Baffin Fisheries successfully completes a second at sea transfer of shrimp in Iqaluit to be used for the Canada Surplus Food Sharing Program in Nunavut. Today (Mon. Nov. 2) we landed 10,000 pounds of shrimp in Iqaluit directly from the company’s largest fishing vessel, FV Sivulliq, onto the smaller waiting vessel. Chairman David Alexander coordinated logistics of the offload to take the shrimp ashore. David and our crewing manager Kavavow is coordinating delivery to other Nunavut communities. The aim of the program is to prioritize those in need. Amaruq HTA will coordinate delivery in Iqaluit. Other HTAs will coordinate in their own communities. (Photo credits to Jonathan Larkham)
