We’re back and better than ever! We’re working with 5 Business Improvements Areas in Toronto to bring you new curated bags from Bloordale, Bloorcourt, Queen West, Ossington, and College Promenade. While working on this project, we came across many other fantastic initiatives that are supporting local businesses in their own way. After completing the Bag of Bloor project, we want to highlight a few of them! Love Leslieville is a curated bag of goodies from the Leslieville neighbourhood, delivered to your door on weekends. (loveleslieville.ca) The Neighbourgood is a community of (free)lance creators volunteering their talents to support local. (theneighbourgood.com)... Black Owned Toronto is promoting a variety of black owned businesses in Toronto (and the surrounding areas). You can visit https://bit.ly/2NHXvld to access a full list of Black owned businesses in the GTA. (blackownedto.com) Bedford Bag is the inspiration for the Bag of Bloor and supports local businesses in the Bedford community. Finally, Shop+Win St Clair is a weekly prize draw for those who support local businesses along St. Clair. As we near the end of the Bag of Bloor project, we're looking forward to making our donation to support Sistering 24 Hour Drop In's critical work in this community. Sistering is a multi-service agency offering practical and emotional support to women and trans people from across Toronto who are homeless, precariously housed and/or socially isolated. COVID-19 has heightened the need for a safe space for women and trans folk to feel comfortable and Sistering is stepping up to provide that by continuing their meal program (now take-away), harm reduction program, and many others. Next week is our final week of sales. We want to thank everybody who has supported this project and this community! We are very excited that we've been able to fundraise for Sistering women's shelter - we'll announce the final amount at the end of next week.
