We have moved into our new place at 4770 Bench Rd very close to the Tim Hortons . Look for the Bahnmann Timber sign on Bench Rd at the end of the charming little gravel drive which takes you through a little patch of trees. (Right next to Staghorn Rd). You will end up between the 2 big green barns, loop around the first barn and park facing the 2nd building and lumber stacks and come on in!

What have we got to lose? The Fairy Creek Watershed Blockade (check out the facebook page) has been there since August, one of 3 that were set up to halt logging of old growth near Port Renfrew. Neither the Liberals or the NDP have followed through with real protection of old growth forests, so the trees have continued to fall, until now. You can visit the Fairy Creek camp like Dorothea and I did to show your support, tell your friends (election time is coming), and make your calls to your NDP candidate's office, underscoring the urgency of halting corporate cutting of ancient BC forests now. Most importantly this election, vote for those who will support green economies, sustainable forestry, and local log processing.
For a varied mix of locally grown and milled furniture and live edge wood, drop in at the Bahnmann Timber warehouse Friday afternoons or Saturdays from 10 till 4. We are located at 2265 Koksilah Rd, a few miles south of Duncan west off of the #1 highway. See you there.

Drop by the Bahnmann Timber Warehouse on Fridays between 12:30 and 4:30 or Saturdays between 10 and 4 and stimulate your woodworking creative process. Lots of unique Vancouver Island grown wood, in all kinds of cuts and shapes, in sizes large and small. Hope to see you there.
The Fairy Creek watershed, a spectacular old growth forest is the site of 2 blockades to protect the valley from cutting. Logging company Teal Jones with the green light from the BC NDP started building roads in from the top, and bottom of the valley in order to remove the ancient trees. In our province we are down to somewhere between 2 and 3 % of lower elevation old forest, why not save the rest instead of seeing it destroyed for short term gain? Check out the Walbran Ce...ntral Facebook page for more info, and some great video/ and photos. If you are concerned about the logging of our remaining ancient forests, phone the premier's office, call or email your BC rep, and support your favorite forestry protection organization, and share the information. My wife Dorothea and I made the trip 2 days ago to the high end of the valley to visit the "Cloud Camp" and met some very friendly, appreciative and resolute individuals. We found it without any trouble, if you have back country experience and/or determination you will get there, though it is very rugged and fairly remote, which makes it all the more interesting. If you do make the trip make sure you follow the same route up and down. A lower blockade can also be accessed off of the Granite Mainline, a much shorter and easier trip. The dark heavily forested valley is clearly visible in this satellite image. https://www.google.ca//@48.6172873,-124.3458/data=!3m1!1e3 Here are the directions if you want to visit and have a 4 by 4. km 0: intersection of Deering Rd. and Pacific Marine Rd., Port Renfrew turn left toward Avatar Grove onto Gordon Mainline 5 km: Turn right onto Brayden main ( no sign) just before narrow bridge over Gordon river. If you cross that bridge, you missed the turn-off 8.8 km Take left fork 12.9: Turn right uphill onto Reid Mainline 18.1: Stay left at fork 19.5 km: Turn right 21 km: End of the road.
