As everyone knows by now, we ''officially'' shut down the idea of holding Bailongo this year. We were ''hoping'' but in the end, we had to come to terms with the facts. The cancellation came early enough that we aren't having to deal with any debts to make up for. Aside from a couple of airline tickets (that we are hoping to be able to have full refunds on), we hadn't put a deposit on the room or anything like that. However, some here in Montreal aren't quite so lucky.... Studio Tango Montréal / Tango Social Club, the beautiful location where we hold our Bailongo classes and many of the milongas, do need help. They count on their regular classes and weekly milongas, as well as big events like ours to help pay the rent. With everything closed, making the rent for the next few months is a daunting task. If you think you can help them out in any way at all, please have a look at their GoFundMe campaign and donate. Even the smallest amount can help. Or if that's not possible for you, know that you can help them out immensely, by just sharing the campaign on your Facebook page. Our Bailongo 2018 was filled with many, many, many magical moments. Far much - too - many to count . . . But one that will stay glued in everyone's hearts for many years to come, was the electrifying performance of Pablo Veron & Cecilia Capello on Saturday, May 19th. Teacher, mentor, inspiration and dear friend, Pablo has a had a long, very close relationship with the Montreal tango community and so it was with immense pride that we welcomed him to this year's festival. E...veryone was on pins and needles with anticipation to see his first ''live'' performance in over 12 years . . . It's impossible to describe how electrifying the mood was that night . . . Montreal Bailongo! festival de Tango it's finishing, I can not describe how beautiful was, the people in Montreal it's amazing,so kind,and welcoming, everyone ...in the street greet you and if you need they help you, I LOVE MONTREAL, LOVE CANADA. The festival was incredible, a lot of people in the classes, very charged and with the desire to learn, the milongas allways full and with an amazing energy, I want to thank to the greats DJ Pamela Bravo, Felipe Martinez, Edmond Bandhi, Jay Abling,Avik Basu, Cenker Uzun, Rahul, thany you guys for the amazing music and make us dance all night long, an special thank to Pablo Javier Pugliese and Noel Strazza, Pablo Veron and Cecilia Capello for your inspiring, exciting, and beautiful shows, was a real pleasure be there to fell and learn of you, guys you are the best. This year we'll have 3 superb teaching couples! So, we're super proud to present Pablo Pugliese & Noel Strazza who will be joining this year's team. :) :) :)

Meet Cecilia Capello. She's been tango dancing forever, since she was a small child. Strong, beautiful, talented, experienced. She's taught and performed locally in Buenos Aires as well as throughout Europe and Asia. We are super proud to bring her to Bailongo 2018. She'll be teaching and performing with her new partner, Pablo Veron. Yes, THE Pablo Veron. ... Veron is thrilled to be coming back to teach in Montreal (one of his absolute favourite places) and this time, he's also super excited to be performing with one of his favourite dancers! Pablo Veron: The dancer's dancer, star of the movie The Tango Lesson, of the show Tango Argentino, of countless other productions . . . the inspiration for many of us, and the reason why many of our teachers started dancing in the first place, has not performed in North America in something like 14 years. BAILONGO 2018 is shaping up be another fantastic event :) :) :) but can't wait all the way until May your next Tango-Trip to Montreal? Pablo Veron will be teaching at Studio Tango Montréal, this November 22nd - 26th. ... ''Definitely one of the best tango dancers, ever. Elegant, graceful, powerful and an unparalleled creative force . . . To see him move will change the way you see tango.'' Acknowledged as a pivotal force in regards to the re-birth of the popularity of the tango, Pablo Veron is considered by many of his peers to be one of the greatest talents in the history of the dance. We are honoured to welcome him to Montreal once again this November for his only stop in North America. Classes will be held on the evening of Wednesday through Sunday.
