As we countdown to the end of 2020, Nearly a billion people world wide watch the Waterford Crystal Ball come down to officially mark the beginning of a New Year. Here are some interesting facts of this massive Crystal ball. The inaugural New Year’s Eve Bash began in 1904 with fireworks, and when fireworks were banned from the event in 1906, an illuminated 700 lb iron and wood ball was lowered from the tower flagpole.
