Due to the rising numbers of active Covid cases in our communities, please be aware that we have returned to our doors being locked day to day. We do have staff within the building but we will be working by appointment only. If you require assistance, please be sure to call (780) 352-2501 to make an appointment. We would request that masks be worn when arriving for your appointment. Together, let's continue to do our part to help lower the numbers and safely return to normal. Thank you again for your patience and understanding!

Although we are all enjoying the heat of summer, it’s hard to envision the imminent snowfall (gasp!!! I know, we said it!). Monuments take time to design, and produce, but August is a good month to start THINKING about one if you’re hoping to have a marker installed prior to the Alberta winter. Monuments can vary from pillow shaped to upright, from benches and even garden stones to help memorialize your loved one. You may browse the catalogue for monuments, from Edmonton Gra...nite Memorials keeping in mind all monuments are personal, and have the ability to be custom designed. As agents for Edmonton Granite, our staff are available to help you design one using phone or email, or you may book an appointment to come into the office to browse designs and images. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] for questions, or pricing. Continue to stay safe, and enjoy the sunshine while you can. https://edmontongranite.ca/egm-catalogue/

Many have been calling, and asking about the new regulations put forth with Stage 1 re-opening in Alberta. Our policy is as follows: We will be following the guideline put forward to limit all funeral services to private, family, invitational events of up to 50 people, and only in places that accommodate appropriate social distancing. Our chapel at Baker Funeral Chapel DOES allow for the 50 person maximum to host a funeral, but please be aware that this includes ALL peopl...e within the building - all of our staff, family members (yes, babies too), ministers, musicians. Churches, and halls and different locations all have the right to establish their own policies, and the physical distancing is the large issue. Fifty people is the regulation SHOULD SPACE ALLOW, but if SPACE DOES NOT ALLOW, the maximum number of people shall be less than then regulation and based on the size available. It is crucial at this time that we all participate in protecting our community, surrounding areas, and all their members. We are unable to participate in any funeral matters that breach the amount of people attending that have been recommended, along with locations that do not satisfy the required 6 feet allowance for social distancing. We will be postponing large funerals until the Chief Medical Officer’s restrictions are lifted. No provision of food and beverages for fellowship will be co-ordinated by the funeral home, or its employees. We will not be meeting directly with individuals who are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or have recently returned from out of country, to make funeral arrangements. We will consider phone calls, or emails as a means of completing funeral arrangements, and in-person appointments will be limited to a maximum of three people. Our doors will be locked day-to-day, and appointment times will be scheduled, and limited to a certain time frame to ensure we can meet the needs of all families that we serve. The staff at Baker Funeral Chapel, and Wombold Family Funeral Homes are still as available as we always were. You can still call us to make funeral arrangements or to ask questions, and we will still actively have staff at the office Monday to Friday. We are doing our best to meet the requirements put forward by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, while doing our best to respect the needs of your family. We will update our Facebook page as required, and we will be updating our website as soon as possible. For questions, please call (780) 352-2501. Thank you for your understanding and patience during the unknown, upcoming days.
