I know there are a lot of fears right now with COVID-19. Especially with the spike in Kelowna and Vernon. You are probably starting to ask yourself is self care really worth it right now? Or is this worth the extra stress? Let me reassure you it for sure is. When you care for yourself and take time out for you. This then give you the ability to be more present and show up better for those that depend on you. ... For those of you that have not made it into the spa I want to walk you through my protocols for screening patients, cleaning, and sanitizing the treatment room. 1. Pre screening when booking an appointment with the incredible receptionists 2. You’re required to sanitize your hands and put on a mask when you arrive at the spa 3. A two page double sided consent to treat form. Going over all your history and helping you to weigh benefits and risks. 4. In the treatment room you’ll see that all unnecessary items to massage therapy are removed. 5. The treatment table is unmade so you can see how everything is clean, sanitized, and no oil marks are present. Also the pillow used for ankle and knee support is in a rubber case so it can be cleaned and sanitized as well after each use. 6. Sheets and face covers that are used for your massage are fresh and clean. I set up the table while you’re in the treatment room. 7. Once your massage starts, I was my hands when I return to the room. There’s a sink in each of the treatment rooms. The towel I use for drying my hands is changed out after every patient. 8. When your massage is complete I wash my hands before leaving the room. I use the towel on the door handle and leave the room. My used towel is immediately put into a used laundry container. 9. Once you leave I then take the sheets and they go immediately into the used laundry container and brought down to our laundry room to be cleaned. 10. I clean all surfaces of the treatment room with Morning Mist. I use a slightly higher concentration that is recommended. I start cleaning and sanitizing: table, pillow, face cushions, stool and handle, shelf (hand sanitizer, lotion bottle, and oil bottle), chair, basket, hooks behind door, door, counter, sink, tap, clock, treatment room floors, handles, and light switch. This happens after EVERY treatment. With this routine firmly in place, I have spaced out my bookings to have a 30 minutes in between each patient. I will not cut corners on my cleaning and sanitizing routine. I have decided to keep my bookings spaced out like this indefinitely. You and your families safety is my top priority. I have outlined all the steps I have been taking and will continue to take to ensure that. Drop a comment of some concerns you have been having or how you are managing the stresses Thank you all so much for your continued support through these difficult times! I look forward to seeing you in my schedule. With Respect and Gratitude, Samantha Panter RMT

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to everyone. Let you know I’m officially back at work and have some available appointment times. I’m currently not taking in any new patients until July. My schedule is limited for June and wanted anyone with immunocompromised systems to feel safe to book with me! Wanted to let you know that we are taking the necessary steps to minimize the risk of transfer as best I can!... Later I’m posting pictures of my sparse and sanitized treatment room! Please contact me at healing garden if you have any either questions or concerns!

Hello everyone!! Start date is approaching!! I went to A&G supplies in Vernon and received amazing service and knowledge for a cleaner I need to be using. For those of you that are unaware, my mom is a professional cleaner and uses this product in her business. That includes the local blood labs and two doctors offices. It’s called morning mist and it will need 10 minutes of drying time to fully kill off any bacteria or virus. I also bought A&G’s hand sanitizer they’re selli...ng that is alcohol free and will be in my treatment room to use as needed. The cleaner and sanitizer are all approved with CDC and Interior Health. I also have N-95 face masks, reusable masks for 30 uses, and a face shield! Research is paying off! I’m processing with the upmost care to protocols and respect for everyone’s safety. We had a meeting at work to discuss necessary changes that need to be made for everyone’s health and safety. I’m feeling more and more confident with moving ahead and resuming practice with these changes in place. Tomorrow I will post my availability for June and new changes for July. At this time for the months of June and July I will not be accepting any new patients. With limited space I want to make my current patient load my priority. Thank you for understanding, and please comment here if you have any specific questions regarding bookings or my protocols!

Hi there everyone!! I wanted to take the time to update all patients of BHMT regarding returning to practice. I’ve been taking this time to research and listen to Public Health Officer, my governing body College of Massage Therapists of B.C., and the association that I have my malpractice insurance through the Registered Massage Therapists of B.C. There is a course that was offered to me by the CMTBC and RMTBC. Outlining education with the COVID-19 virus. Precautions and car...e to be taken. At this moment I’m not rushing into returning to my practice. I want to return feeling confident that I can administer the highest level of care and safety. Safety for myself, patients, my family, and my patients families. Once I have protocols, procedure, and booking guidelines I will be closer to a return to practice date. This week I have a staff meeting with Zhou. Where we will discuss the changes we will have to make. To ensure everyone’s health and safety is maintained. I’m not taking anything for granted. I am not rushing in without taking the time to weigh risks over benefits. The health and safety of my patients has and always will be my number 1 priority. Thank you for your patience and I look forward to seeing you soon! Samantha L. Panter RMT
