This is my (extremely happy) face because I've decided to stay longer in Bali. I was supposed to be arriving back in Toronto right about now...today actually. But I cancelled my flight. I've extended my Indonesian Visa. I'm looking for a long-term home. I've told my family and friends. I'm living the Bali life and loving it. I'm meeting amazing people and building so many important connections. I'm learning a ton. My business @yoninutritionist is flourishing and developing li...ke I never imagined. My creative juices are flowing. I'm in flow. I'm inspired every day by the work I'm doing and the people I'm meeting. Plus, I get to surf and do yoga and have the freedom to do all the things I love to do every single day. Not sure when I'll be back, but taking every day, every moment and every opportunity as it comes. Boating safety is sexy!! AND a big deal. Funny story... when I was 16 years old, I got in trouble with the police (the one and only time in my life). I was wakeboarding without a spotter, which in Canada is a criminal offence.... I was driving and I was teaching my friend how to wakeboard. I thought I could just drive the boat into a hidden bay and we wouldn't get caught, but the laws of the universe don't work that way. I was meant to be taught a lesson. When the police stopped us, I thought I could get away with just paying a fine, but I wasn't getting off so easy that day. They told me I needed to go to court, tell my parents, get legal aid and that this is in fact a serious, criminal offence. Imagine me at 16 years old, this innocent girl who just wanted to go wakeboarding, with a criminal record!?! Growing up with water sports all my life I knew better. My parents were pissed. I had to go to court to fight it, and they weren't going to let me off so easily. But eventually I got lucky...they let me go and dropped the charges, but I had to complete 10hrs of community service and write a 750 word essay on boating safety. This is why I say boating safety is sexy because I KNOW. Not only from this experience, but from the work I do with teaching people how to SUP. It is SO IMPORTANT to adhere to the safety rules on the water.
