The Mt Baldy Alpine Club along with so many friends of Chad Maarhuis, send out our deepest sympathies to Erica, Hunter, Montana, Casey, and their extended family. Chad passed away unexpectedly and words cannot possibly express our regards for this young man. He was a great volunteer to the club, and a absolute joy to be around, countless hours of volunteering to help kids become better skiers, racers and boarders. His love for his family, compassion for his community, and respect of the great outdoors speaks for itself. Chad will be missed by so many and our club will miss your positive spirit. Rest In Peace.

I hope everyone is healthy and doing their best to do their part in these though times. I wanted to personally reach out to you all with a message of hope. If we all do our part in social distancing, we can slow the spread of the virus by breaking any potential chains of transmission. I myself had to close all 5 clinics this week which has been difficult but the right thing to do. And now, planning to head back up to the hill to the cabin. I hope to ski and get the fres...h air enjoying what is left in the season. I hope you all find something to do that makes you happy and healthy. Thank you to the coaches for giving your best to the kids in the club. The party last week could not have happened in better weather, as the kids really had some tough conditions to deal with during the season. I am grateful for their dedication to make every week a great experience for everyone that participated. The skill level in the kids improved and most important, fun was had by all. Michael Fenwick Wilson has organized on Sunday at 10 AM on the Surgar Lump Chair-Tennings run a tear down of all B netting (19 rolls) and gates removed to be stored away for the season. He will have a trailer and is hoping for some strong dads and kids if possible to bring down the nets and gates to a trailer so he can store them at his farm. If anyone would like to help out this would be much appreciated, Mikes number is 250 444 7031. Health and Happiness to You All Paul Rauhala
