Heb 11:7, Noah walked with God in an era of time where such was certainly the unpopular thing to do. To "walk" with God, implies one who simply will hear & do.... He was "divinely warned" to build an ark, and during the time of building the ark was a "preacher of righteousness, 2 Pet 2:5". He would have preached to listen to God and be saved, but it fell on deaf ears. Why? It was not cool, the majority thought contrary, etc, etc. You can almost sense the laughter, mocking, scorn & jeering he faced, but when time came for the door to be shut in the ark & the rains came, those jeers turned to fears. Only 8 were saved in the ark, although all had opportunity. If you lived back then would you be in the slim minority who were saved or the vast majority that were lost? See more

Daring to stand for morality in a degrading society will certainly make you unpopular and not get a lot of "fb likes" at this time. Can you see it instead as "strength", and the landscape of opinion stem toward it? In the near future watch for "heroes of faith" for us to consider!

Heroes of faith cannot leap a tall bldg with a single bound, but they can do all things in Christ (or God) which strengthens them, Php 4:13. And they are STRONG...! Though the world would do to them what they may, they would not shrink away! Hopefully you will begin to admire their strength to stand alone for a purpose firm. See more

The common denominator for all these "heroes" is simple faith, hearing God & doing it. However theism is not a blind leap of faith. In Heb 11:1, although we can...'t "see" God (the unseen), we are not left without tangible indisputable evidence & lots of it. The bible itself, substantiates the evidence we see. Therefore the bible becomes the "substance" (that which upholds) the evidence, and thus "faith" comes through hearing it (Rom 10:17). How about you? Will you ignore it? Partially obey it? Or be an unsung hero of faith? See more

This "hero" of faith goes all the way back to Gen4 to Adam & Eve's first two boys, Cain & Abel. In the process of time they both gave an offering of sacrifice ...to God. They would have been told what to offer, for Heb 11:4 Abel gave by faith (which comes by hearing Rom 10:17). To make a long story short Abel's was pleasing to God, Cain's was not, and Cain "rose up" and killed Abel. Cain's general attitude is somewhat symbolic of the worldly majority, "to rise up" against that which is righteous. But who was the "hero" at the end of the day? Abel. He (although dead) yet still speaks to us, (Heb 11:4) "choose to stand out and do right". See more
