The Bancroft Rockhounds Jr. Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Ryan Coghlan has accepted the position as head coach for the 2020/2021 season. The Alberta native was originally drafted in the 2nd round by the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. Coghlan went on to play over 170 games for the Kelowna Rockets and Vancouver Giants, while also attending the Vancouver Canucks main camp in 2002. His final season was with the Penticton Vees of the BCHL, where he led his team in scoring... with 25G and 30A (55pts) in 59GP. Following his junior career, the now 36 year-old went on to play the next three seasons professionally in the SPHL and Central Hockey League. In 2007, Coghlan retired from playing and accepted a position with his former club in Penticton as an assistant coach and off-ice development coach. Coghlan then joined the Burlington Cougars as their skills development coach before accepting a head coaching position over seas with HK Vojvodina of the International Hockey League and coaching for the Serbian Olympic National Team. The Rockhounds would also like to take this time to thank former head coach, Denny Debblestyne. Denny joined the Rockhounds in 2019 and helped lead the team with a record of 22-19-1, while making the playoffs in their inaugural season.

A HUGE thank you to Sarah Hubble for coming out to work with some of the Rockhounds players this past week Hubble has been involved in hockey for over 20 years. Starting out playing boys and girls minor hockey in Sterling, Ontario, she then went on to play Midget and junior hockey for the Whitby Wolves organization. Following her time with Whitby, she was then heavily recruited by Mount Allison Mounties, of the Canadian University Hockey League. Sarah’s coaching career began... with the Belleville Bulls, where she was one of the head instructors for their youth hockey development camps. After 6 years with the bulls, she then moved on to the grassroots level where she worked with the Belleville Bearcats and Kingston Ice Wolves organization Recently, Sarah spent time with the Maple Leafs organization in the youth hockey and Community development sector and now is currently the director of sports programming for Game 7 Sports Canada Inc. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Sarah throughout the 2020/2021 season
