Pedersen Training Centre 18.10.2021

We have been taking advantage of the nice fall weather the past two weeks doing yardwork and getting ready for winter. We have had a great show season this yea...r and we would like to thank our good friends and turnback help Doug Reinhardt, Dustin Gonnet, Gerry Hansma, Cody Smith, and Lorne Christianson for all their help without them none of this would be possible. The team behind the scenes are just as important. Our farrier Doug Sapergia, employee Lukas Komant, vet Momentum Equine Veterinary, and Equisports Therapy Kathy Butkovic. A big thank you to our sponsor Equistro Canada . Your products help us keep our horses healthy and looking great. Woody Be Kool owned by Ron Mathison won over $12 000.00 this fall in the open futurities. Black Elk Cutting Classic Open Futurity Reserve Champion and Calgary Cutting Horse Futurity Finalist. Metallic Whiskey Kat owned by Ron Mathison won the Heritage Classic Open Derby in June and has won over $21 700.00 since last fall. Dual Smokin Dixie owned by Sara Kalke was a Non Pro Derby Finalist at the Calgary Futurity and ended up third in the $50 000 Amateur. Dixie has won over $3 900.00 since last fall. With a late start to his show career Blu Dualin Boon owned by Forever Pine Performance Horses was reserve champion in the open derby at the Black Elk Cutting Classic and his NCHA earnings are over $4 000.00. New to the barn this year was Ryan Richel's mare Faith In My Metal. At the Canadian Spectacular she won the open classic challenge and Ryan enjoyed success at the CCHA and Aurora Circuit Finals in the $15 000 Amateur and $35 000 Non Pro. Downtown Calico and Heather had a short show season, however, was the aggregate champion in the non pro at the Black Elk Cutting Classic and non pro 7 up champion at the Calgary Futurity. Doreen Ruggles and her mare Hala Cat did not come to as many shows this year but ended the year on a positive note and improved their consistency. Darlene Gartner and her great gelding Haveadrinkonme had a great year at the cow horse shows in the non pro limited and accomplished some personal bests this show season. A big thank you to our show producers Alberta Cutting Horse Association, Canadian Cutting Horse Association, Heritage Classic Cutting, Silver Slate Arena, Black Elk Cutting Classic, Canadian Cutting Spectacular, and Claresholm Agriplex. Without your continued support none of this would be possible and the past two years have been especially difficult.
