First society babies of the season fledged today... And I put 14 pairs of Lady Gouldians together... Here is hoping for a strong breeding season... :)

Sunday afternoon veggies... zucchini, carrots, kale, cilantro and broccoli... mmmm

Tonight we were breathing wife back into some old nest boxes... sanded, varnished, and then Twyla and Lily helped me paint them... one more coat of varnish tomorrow and they will be ready to go back into service....

Today I moved my Canary hens in with the cocks with a separate timer for their lights... now all the Canaries are together on 9.5 hrs of light, and the finches in the main room can increase their lights slowly up to nudge them into breeding.

I moved my canary males into a separate room with their own timer for their lights today. Now they can have a shorter light cycle then the finches. This way they can continue to get ready for breeding after Christmas...
