Our restaurant businesses deserve a fair chance of survival with the right restrictions in place to protect our customers and continue to serve our community. Doug Ford your decisions are short sighted to say the least! This isnt a rant- these are direct questions with an accusatory tone. FordNation why are you attacking... restaurants & bars. You closed down Toronto, Peel, York & Ottawa over a month ago and the covid numbers still increased in those regions! Restaurants aren't the problem- your longterm care homes- run by YOUR government are the problem. YOUR schools are the problem. MY restaurant isnt!. I just layed off a single mother who was just getting her life in order because of her job with me. I had to tell her I can no longer employ her because of YOUR decision as she sat across from me and cried. This isnt a restaurant problem and we are not contributing to your covid numbers. My restaurant is 1 block from a major health centre in a Hamilton- why dont you and I actually walk through it and you show me the numbers of people in ICU climbing. It isnt happening! I've talked to staff who say they havent seen the hospital this empty in decades. I dont take this lightly. I say this as a survivor of a lung infection thanks to the incredible staff Juravinski Icu. You are killing small business. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but the public will catch on. There has never been a bigger shift in wealth in history than what is happening right now. The wealthier are getting richer and the average individual has never had a greater dependency on government handouts than ever before. I challenge you Doug Ford to show me otherwise.
