Don't forget to look up when cleaning, high places need attention too! Ceiling vents are instrumental in keeping the flow of air in your business, so it's important to make sure they're clean and open in all rooms, including washrooms!

One thing I hear team members say all of the time is that cleaning is fun... fulfilling, relaxing.. calming and rewarding and all agree that it is a form of meditation. Zen. This is exactly how I feel and I love hearing others express the same thing, almost verbatim. When we finish a job we all love to stop and look over the space we cleaned. We smile knowing the stage is set, so to speak, for a new day. #pride #zen

Stainless steel should be cleaned daily. Never use anything abrasive on it as it easily scratches, and when this happens the scratches stay. A soft cloth and warm water with a touch of dish soap is all you need if you clean it regularly. Vinegar works too. Sometimes something stronger is needed, a degreaser for example, but it is essential that one designed for stainless steel is used, otherwise it will cause damage, especially in areas that are scratched. Make sure it is di...luted properly and always go over it, rinse a few times after using a cleaning agent (even soap) and dry immediately. Sometimes things build up, then a little elbow grease is required, like this job today...

I wish Designers of restaurants and bars conferred with Cleaners before implementing their visions. I've seen many places that look great in the beginning but require too much time and effort to keep the place fresh looking (dust and grease are two relentless inevitables in these spaces). I especially feel for Owners when they find themselves faced with having to spend money unexpectedly because the wrong materials were initially chosen and had to be replaced.

It feels so good when everything is clean, out front and behind the scenes.

Goal: Leave it better than you found it (and keep it that way).

We all love to step back and admire the fruits of our labour when we are done, feeling so proud of what we accomplished. We really care about what we do. There is something very Zen about it.
