#RitchieValens first hit, 'Come On, Let's Go' was recorded, pressed and released within a matter of days in July 1958. Musicians on the speedy afternoon session included legendary bassist #CaroleKaye from The Wrecking Crew, who played rhythm guitar on the track. #RIP #theDaytheMusicDied

If you're just joining us, today we remember one of rock n' roll's first and most famous tragedies, the crash of a private plane outside of #Clearlake, #Iowa during the early morning hours of February 3rd, 1959. Released as a single on April 20th, 1958, 'Rave On' is unmistakably #BuddyHolly from the very first note, as the song kicks off with his signature vocal hiccup. #RIP #theDaytheMusicDied
