Pine sap/resin is amazing!! I like to use it like chewing gum and for healing wounds, especially if they are infected. Pine trees ooze resin when they get damag...ed. The resin has antibacterial properties which prevent the damaged tree from getting infected. In this same way, pine resin can also be used to heal our wounds. In addition to being antiseptic, pine sap is also anti-inflammatory and its stickiness helps it close wounds. It apparently also works well for healing eczema. There are many other uses, here are some of the top uses. It is not water soluable, so it makes a great way for waterproofing. Examples are putting on your boots to seal them, if you are in a tent camping and it rains, you can seal leaks in the tent. It was used for 100's or 1000's of years to seal boats, making them waterproof and sealed permanently. Pine sap is so durable, it is like honey in a way. It never goes bad. BUT it is very FLAMMABLE! So obviously it can be used to make a quick diy candle, to start fires etc. Pine sap was used for a long time to make soap. With it's antiseptic properties it makes a wonderful soap and smells fantastic. If you would like to know more about the soap, I can send you a good recipe!
