For many decades, Alberta has been Canada’s economic powerhouse, providing the nation with immense wealth, jobs, and opportunity. Since 1960, Albertans have sen...t over $630 billion more in federal taxes to Ottawa than they have received back. Hundreds of thousands of Canadians moved to Alberta to benefit from the prosperity our energy sector provides. At a time of critical need, we asked for fiscal fairness, but our requests fell on deaf ears yesterday’s throne speech completely failed to address the crisis in Canada’s energy sector and in energy-producing provinces like Alberta. Now more than ever, a strong Canada needs a strong Alberta.

This is the kind of leadership our province has needed since the Liberals were first elected in 2015. Unlike Notley who went out of her way to be friends with Justin Trudeau, now we finally have a premier who’s willing to say it how it is, and defend our province and Canada’s energy sector.
