The racing community can always be counted on to bring a smile to a new fan's face. Sometimes, those smiles turn into a treasured memory. Ashley has stage 4 ca...ncer, and she was excited to enjoy a night out at the races last weekend at Century Mile. She got to meet the pony horses and asked if she could pat one. Pony person Cheryl Humbke and her Paint pony Cowboy were more than obliging. Not only did Ashley get to pat Cowboy, but she got to feed him a carrot, and then, with Cheryl's help and a borrowed helmet, she got to take Cowboy for a walk. The love of a horse brings us together, and we want to thank Cheryl, Cowboy, the Pony crew, and the gate crew for reaching out to Ashley, making her welcome, and sharing some horse therapy with her! "Horses change lives... They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls, they give us hope." Toni Robinson *Photos provided by Ryan Haynes. Thank you Ryan for capturing some magic!
What's more exciting than a win? How about a homebred exactor!! Sarah's elegance (Run to Victory x Sassy Sarah) won her debut start tonight in the seventh race at Century Mile, with stablemate Spanish Diva (Gayego x Rebecca's song) taking second!
The team at Bar None Ranches are saddened to learn of the passing of Missy Munro. We send our sincere condolences to her family, her many friends and everyone at Highfield Stock Farm. We offer our deepest sympathy during this difficult time.
Remember earlier this spring when Back on Track Canada featured Gone In a Whisper and her filly? Here she is, four months old and getting bigger every day! This tall filly by Gayego may look like her mama, but she's all class and a natural athlete, just like her sire! #FoalFriday #Albertabred #homegrown #Gayego
Shown here is 4th Race at Century Mile on Friday July 31st near the finish. On the far right (outside) Shannon Beauregard prevails with Trader Lyn in the colors of Bar None Ranches Ltd.. The trainer is Ron Grieves.
Very exciting night at the track last night! Trader Lynn (Gayego x Silver Seven) must have heard us all cheering from the farm as he came from behind to win against a tough field in the fourth race! Then, Out Front (Flat out x Ruby Mist) won for the second time in a row, staying "out front" in a very speedy seventh race!
Happy #FoalFriday! The bigger they get, the harder they play! These kids sure know how to spend a warm summer day

The Foal Friday spotlight this week is on miss Peppy! This is the second orphan that she's instantly and cheerfully accepted without a single snort or pinned earHer new nickname around here is Saint Peppy! Thanks again to her mama Amanda Barron for trusting us with this equine angel!
What's better than winning an award? Winning two, of course! The Alberta bred BAR NO Q earned the Century Downs Racetrack and Casino Trophy for Champion Sprinter as well as the Century Mile Racetrack and Casino Trophy for the title of Champion Older Horse with his impressive performance last season. The Gayego runner had 7 starts with 2 wins, 1 second and 3 thirds including victories in the $100,000 Harvest Plate Stakes on October 14th and the Red Diamond Express Handicap on September 15th at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino. Bar No Q earned $109,450 in his five year old season for Barrie and Collin Quamme and Bar None Ranches. The gelding was was trained by Ron Grieves and was the top earner in 2019 for the Gilded Time sire, Gayego.
It was a rainy Foal Friday. Some kids (and their moms) like playing in the mudwhile some future champions prefer the warm barn
So grateful that we can be a part of this amazing charity that does such meaningful work in our rural community
Who do you think will be the winner of the 2019 Champion Older Horse (Century Racetrack and Casino Trophy) at Night of Champions? Bar No Q (AB Bred) Gem Alta (K...Y Bred) Sir Bronx (FLA Bred) Stone Carver (KY Bred) Trooper John (PA Bred) See more

The "Mare"ternity photo shoot was just the inspiration Willow needed--Check out this handsome fellow, complete with matching paint job
In the midst of all that is happening, the sun is still shining, the birds still sing, flowers bloom and mares still keep us guessing. Willow required a maternity shoot to complete her preparation for foaling and today was a beautiful day!
