Barony of Seabegs 22.10.2021

Medieval Barons presided as judges in their own courts. Some of them had the power of "the pit and the gallows" which allowed sentencing to execution by drowning (known as "the pit") in women or hanging ("the gallows") for men. While I am not a bloodthirsty fellow I sometimes wish, as Baron of Seabegs, that I retained that authority when cut off by rude drivers!

Hiking Kejimkujik National Historic Site in Nova Scotia (New Scotland), Canada. It is interesting that the word "kejimkujik" in the local Native American dialect, Mi'kmaw, means the same as the "seabegs/seybeggis" in Gaelic..."dwelling place of the little people". Both places are marked by glaciation and Elf Hill, in the Barony is a glacial drumlin, reputedly the dwlling place of faeries. Drumlins are perfectly round little hills formed by deposits from glaciers as they me...lted. Fairy Bay on Lake Kejimkujik is glaciated and surrounded by drumlins and ancient petroglyphs, carved into the slate around the lake carved in rock and dating back thousands of years. Seabegs cottage in Nova Scotia, our summer home, is set right on top of a glacial drumlin. One can feel the spiritual presence in Kejimkujik and there are ancient native burial grounds near the lake that intruders are warned not to visit, for their own protection... See more

As Seabegs Wood is located in Stirlingshire, Scotland and I reside in Nova Scotia (New Scotland) I purchased New Seabegs Wood, a charming 40 acres with 1100 feet of bluff on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Bay of Fundy, with the world's highest tides. My Dutch bride however has a seaside property on the other side of the province so we really can't use it! https://www.facebook.com/george.burden.7545/videos/10219090200075523
