Our next highlight of 2020 was when we painted the town blue in June. Over 200 businesses took us up on our offer of free business reopening toolkits and we were so excited to see every one as we delivered them.

Boxing week is usually a very busy time for the businesses in Barrhaven and many have been forced to close due to the latest lockdown. Here are 5 things that you can do to support our businesses in this very challenging time. 1. Make sure that you are following the rules. If we all hunker down and the numbers stay stable or go down, we may be able to get out of this lockdown sooner. Avoid gatherings and only leave home for necessities. 2. If you are ordering food or even item...s, take the extra couple of minutes to pick it up. Delivery services (food or other) can significantly cut into the profits. 3. Now would be a great time try that restaurant you've had your eye on, or curbside pick up something from that store you have heard so much about. 4. Find out what your favourite small businesses are doing and if they offer curbside pick up. Just because you can't go in, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are closed altogether. 5. If you can't get it, wait until the lockdown is over. This too shall pass and our businesses will need our support more than ever once they are allowed to reopen their doors. 2020 was definitely an interesting year and this week, as we head into 2021, we will be taking a look back at some of the highlights.
