Join with us to make this Pumpkin Walk (Drive thru) bigger and better than ever before! We are hosting the event on the Saturday before Halloween (October 30th). However this year we are switching things up a bit, the how, where, when and why of the actual pumpkin carving, for a number of reasons; 1- Children that are being homeschooled will be able to take part... 2- Children & families that do not attend BES will be able to take part 3- Opening the pumpkin carving up to everyone 4- Ease of organizing with less volunteer requirements. 5- Less risk for people in the school that have pumpkin allergies Pumpkins will not be carved at the school, pumpkins will be available for pickup and drop off at the Barrhead Regional Aquatic Centre, for approximately a week before the pumpkin walk, and families will simply have to stop in during business hours, pick up a pumpkin to take home and carve and bring it back for display. Please keep in mind that there are a limited number of pumpkins available. Pick up & drop off will be at the Barrhead Regional Aquatic Centre (Front Desk) at the following times: Mon, October 25th- 12:00 pm 8:00 pm Tues 26, Wed 27, Thu 28, - 8:00 am 8:00 pm Friday 29 8:00 am 12:00 pm On the day of the event pumpkins will be placed on the path and volunteers will select approx. 10 pumpkins to enter into the Pumpkin Contest, Judges will be assembled and winners announced before fireworks. As this year’s event will be in a drive thru format, you will enter the drive thru pumpkin path at the agrena entrance by the bowling alley, forming a line down the service road and rodeo drive, there will be traffic control to assist with directions. Please follow signage, drive slowly with extreme caution and remain in your vehicles at all times, there will be no foot traffic, roller blades/skates, bicycles, skateboards, scooters etc, allowed to enter. The event will start at 5:00 and run until a 7:30 firework display. Admission to the event from the public will be a donation to the food bank we will have a box on site for collection. An air horn will blast to start at 5:00 and a warning blast will go off 15 min before fireworks. Booths will be closed at 7:30PM.
