To My Fellow Antique Dealers! I had someone contact me on Instagram who apparently lives in the USA. She was requesting a ton of information about possibly purchasing antique furniture. She zeroed in on a large piece and asked if I would do an etransfer. I explained that it wouldn’t work unless she had a Canadian bank account. After many messages back and forth, she then informed me she had a Canadian bank account. I thought everything would go smoothly after that. Then she s...aid she was not going to proceed with an etransfer but a mobile cheque. I had never heard of this form of payment. She proceeded to send a mobile cheque through email. I didnt feel comfortable about this so I told her that I would talk to my bank and get back to her. I stopped at my bank today and the teller had never heard of this form of payment. I am just giving my fellow dealers a heads up about this. Please be careful. She really was pressing for me to open my Bank App to do the deposit. If I am totally naive would someone please fill me in. Thanks See more
