Good morning Barrie Native Friendship Centre Community, With the State of Emergency being declared and Ontario being issued a 28-day Stay-at-Home Order effective 12:01am on Thursday, January 14, 2021, the BNFC regretfully will be remaining closed to the community at this time. The Holiday Drive Thru Dinner event was a hit! Over 80 hot meals were handed out to the community with the rest of the food being donated to Youth Haven a huge shout out to the BNFC staff and centre husband who were in the building 2 days during our holiday shut down to shop, prep, cook, serve and clean! We hope everyone was happy with their meals! Stay safe and have a Merry Christmas. From our BNFC family to yours, wishing you all the best in the New Year.

As we make our way through the busy holiday season, take some time to pause and reflect on this day of the Winter Solstice. Have a listen to some teachings on pre-colonial traditions.

Good afternoon BNFC Community We here at Centre would like to extend our warmest wishes to all of our families and community members as we approach the Christmas holidays. The BNFC staff have been expressing lately how much we all miss the gatherings we used to host pre-COVID where we would open our doors to the community and prepare a delicious hot meal to be served while we all gathered and socialized.... The staff would love nothing more than to maintain that connection with the community so we are inviting you to our Drive Thru / Pick Up Holiday Dinner event on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 2:00pm - 3:30pm. Pre-registration will be required in order to ensure that we have a sufficient amount of food prepared. Please send an email to [email protected] with your family last name, the number of people in your family, any allergies (if applicable) and the best contact number you can be reached at. Deadline for registration emails is 5:00pm Monday, December 21, 2020. Upon receipt of the email, you will be contacted to confirm details and you will be given your pick up time-slot. As most of you know, our parking lot is notoriously small and easily congested. We are allotting time slots for pick ups to alleviate traffic jams and confusion. Please note that this plan is contingent on Simcoe County remaining in the RED ZONE as far as COVID restrictions go. A contact number is imperative to provide when emailing to register in the event that we are moved to the GREY ZONE and are regretfully unable to proceed with the event as planned. Stay safe, have a happy holiday and know that we really miss you! We look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday
