Those looking to support a local cause during this year’s Giving Tuesday movement can feel good about supporting the Barrie Public Library. For Giving Tuesday, we are launching a campaign to help expand our Visiting Library Service (VLS) home delivery to local homebound adults, seniors and seniors’ residences. Each donation of $30 will purchase a durable, weather-proof delivery bag to ensure we have enough to keep up with increased demand and keep them sanitized between customers. Donations can be made online, by phone at 705-728-1010 or in person. Learn more and donate online: https://www.barrielibrary.ca//~491-Donate-for-Giving-Tuesd

In order to get books and movies in your hands faster, we are reducing holds from 14 to 7 days. This means once you are notified that your item is ready, you will have 7 days to come pick it up before it goes to the next person in line. Before COVID, items were held on the shelf for 4 days. This change brings us back closer to that, while allowing a bit of extra time and a full weekend to pick up your items. Visit our catalogue to request an item: https://encore.barriepubli...clibrary.ca/iii/encore/?lang=eng Once your order is ready, either drop in within 7 days to pick it up or book an Express Pick-Up appointment for curbside pickup: https://www.barrielibrary.ca/borrow/express-pick-up
