Our friends in the Waterloo region are having a silent auction this week. Please help our sisters in harmony with their project and shop local.

We are a non-profit organization and as such we can't sing, involve our community and grow our presence without help. The assistance we receive from Barrie Bingo Sponsors Association allows us to build a musical community. It allows us to bring the joy of music into the community. It allows us to compete and perform and hire coaches that help us improve our craft. Without the wonderful generosity and support of Barrie Bingo Sponsors Association our small but mighty chorus wo...uld not be able to engage with our community and give so many women a place for their voices to soar. With the recent pandemic, this support is more important than ever. With virtual rehearsals each member maintains some "normal" and is supported in staying positive. It allows us all to keep our mental health intact and joyful. Covid-19 may keep us from singing in person, but we will show everyone that singing together virtually is possible. Summer Sizzler! What a fun-filled, teary eyed evening. A huge THANK YOU goes out to our friend and mentor extraordinaire, Erin Howden and North Metro Chorus for... putting together such a wonderful evening of friendship and song. Thank you to our friends Joan Boutilier and Karen Breidert for your inspiring words and reminders of strength. Another huge thank you goes out to Yve, Laura and Joanne from North Metro for putting together very touching videos/collages. It was a fantastic reminder of how close our region really is. We finished the night off singing our very own June Dale's arrangement of 'Can You Feel The Love'. Not a dry eye in the house as we remembered all our amazing moments together. Yesterday would have been our 2020 mass sing and today a new tradition in regional contests as it was to be our first contest in St.Catherines. Our Syracuse conventions have provided some of the most memorable moments much like the memory shared by this video. Friendships grow deeper and new members get hooked on Sweet Adeline's for life. There is an energy that is simply unparalleled by any other event. We must isolate and maintain physical distance but our hearts are always close with one another. Don't dwell on our missing contest, focus on making next year's even better and greater then ever. To all of our region and all Sweet Adeline's we wish you health and love. Keep music in your heart and a song in the air. We are strong women that will sing together again in perfect harmony.

Can't wait for our zoom rehearsal!

Every other Monday night the Barrie Soundwaves Bingo team arrives at the Delta Bingo & Gaming Hall in Barrie, ON. These gals do everything from picking up garbage and helping with food orders to meeting and greeting the patrons with a smile. Unfortunately Bingo along with our rehearsals are on hold due to Covid 19 but you can be sure these ladies are still smiling and ready to put their bingo hats on as soon as this crisis has passed. Thank you to the Delta Bingo & Gaming Hall for closing during this time of social distancing and keeping our sisters and our community safe. Good health to everyone!!

During this time of social distancing and self isolation one of the things we miss most are coming together to make music. We wish everyone well wishes and good health. Stay strong during this scary time. We have had to cancel our upcoming friends and family show and are unable to rehearse but you can be sure we are still singing, even if alone, and can't wait to perform for you after the pandemic has been cured.

In light of the disappointment of our competition being canceled and the scary times we are currently experiencing due to the Covid-19 outbreak we would like to share with you some joy. Here are some pictures from the last few months, taken during our Christmas celebrations, retreat and coaching and our newbies celebrated. Remember to keep song in your heart and stay safe. We can't wait until we can start rehearsals and wish everyone stays healthy and happy.
