The fishery is the backbone of our local economy and is engrained in the fabric of our communities. Our lobster pot Christmas tree helps to recognize the importance of the industry and we hope to be able to build it bigger and better this year! If you'd like more information on how you can help or would like to make a donation, please contact Suzy Atwood by email at [email protected] or by phone at 902-903-0494.

During the winter months, we receive a number of inquiries relating to the plowing of provincially owned and maintained roadways. For your information, Nova Scotia has specific standards for snow clearing on the provincial roads and highways. During storms they focus on keeping the province's major highways passable. After a storm ends, they work hard to clear all our roads within 24 hours or sooner. This chart explains the levels of service. ... Please note that the chart is for provincial roads and highways only and do not include the roads under our jurisdiction. For more information, visit https://novascotia.ca/tran/winter/losmap.asp.
