To simplify what we do here at BarterPay, we broke it down to 3 steps: 1) Barter what you have. 2) Get what you need and 3) Give what you can. The FIRST 2 STEP...S are what organized barter is - you have things you can barter, whether it's extra inventory or downtime in your business, and you can use that to get what you need INSTEAD OF USING MONEY. That's it. The first question people often ask is, "How is that better than just bartering on my own?" Well, for two people to barter with each other, they both have to want what the other person has at the same time and at the same value and those deals can easily fall apart if one person doesn't hold up their end of the bargain.
