Sometimes interacting with your loved ones on a daily basis is hard as lives get in the way and others are busy building their lives of their own. . . Yet it’s so important for the seniors to have that interaction. Speaking from experience, growing up in Toronto area and all our family was in Montreal. We weren’t able to see our grandparents everyday or even once or twice a week. There wasn’t Skype, Zoom, FaceTime or What’s up. So we didn’t get to "see" our grandparents. Only... when we went to visit. . . . I would call everyday day though to speak to my grandmother. I knew she was lonely and I loved her so much and missed her so I did the best I could for what I had. . . . Unfortunately some people don’t even get that. We see quite often the grandparents are there but the kids/grandkids are so busy with their own lives that they miss out. . . It’s sad to see but it’s real, it happens a lot. Some families live far away and can’t be there for their senior relatives. . . That is why the Barwood Concierge team does what do. We try and make a difference in lives. This video is a little different from the rest. It's introducing the fact that I am taking a Sober Coach course in January (maybe March due to the Pandemic). I always promised myself that if anything ever happened to my loved ones that were struggling with addiction issues, that I would help others out. I decided 4.5 years ago to quit drinking as it was something that I felt was no longer needed in my life. I followed in my brothers foot steps. He's now 5 years sober on Dec...ember 27,2020 I still go out and have fun but I minus the booze, which is nice because I wake up the next day feeling great but still get to be apart of everything. I'm looking forward to taking this course and helping others as that is something I have already always done. All the business's tie in together, so it will come naturally to me. Eventually I will take another course on being an Interventionalist so then I will be a Sober Coach/Interventionalist. I feel strongly about Mental Health and Addictions.
