Our #wildlifebiologists conduct wildlife sweeps and surveys throughout western Canada. Here's a peek at some recent findings during wildlife sweeps in the fall and winter 2019/2020: a small mammal den, bear tracks, and a raptor nest (unoccupied at the time of assessment). #wildlifesweep,#experiencedwildlifebiologist, #alberta, #wildlife, #environmentalconsulting,#getoutdoors, #nature, #raptornest, #dens, #westerncanada

The Bobcat (Lynx rufus or Felis rufus) are stealthy predators, often feeding on small animals such as rabbits, hares, and mice. We spotted this one with a feed of squirrel for breakfast. #terrifictuesday, #wildlife, #wildlifebiology, #environmentalconsulting, #wildlifebiologists

It's peak leking season in southern Alberta for sharp-tailed grouse. One of our wildlife biologists was able to spot this lek with several males displaying courtship behaviour in order to attract a mate. If your project is in the sharp-tailed grouse survey zone, you probably need a sharp-tailed grouse survey conducted by an experienced wildlife biologist. Give us a shout and we can help you! #TympanuchusThursday, #mating, #courtship, #chickendance, #wildlifesurveys, #wildlifebiology

Red foxes are highly adapted to human activity, likely a contributing factor why they have the 2nd largest natural distribution of any land mammal (Humans being 1st of course). This black fox, a rare variant of the red fox, was curious what our Basin field staff were up to this week. #wildlifewednesdays, #redfox, #blackfox, #rare, #vulpesvulpes, #fieldwork, #environmentalmonitoring
