Excited to announce!!

Love the beginning of the "farming" season! And no more lugging buckets to the horse field from the house! lol

What does it mean to "free-range, pasture raise chickens"? We love having our birds roaming free through the day. They reduce bugs around the property and get lots of sunlight. This gives us lovely, large, and tasty eggs!

We love the critters who share this piece of heaven with us. We have 2 Standardbred horses, 1 Quarter horse, 1 mini horse, 2 dairy goats, 8 hens, 1 rooster, 1 farm dog, 1 barn cat, 2 indoor cats and a pet bunny. Some are just for enjoyment, but most of them have a purpose for us here at Basin View Acres. <3

Do you know what it means to homestead? It can mean different things for different people... but for us, we are trying to live off our land as much as possible without needing to buy from the big stores. We also try to support local or borrow from neighbours to help fill the areas we might be lacking. Living Simply. This is our aim.
