We appreciate your patience with us as we spend time together with family at this time.
If anyone would like to special order any Clam products, or would like to pre order and guarantee yourself a shanty for next year, please call us by the end of this week. https://clamoutdoors.com/
Unfortunately our ramp is now closed for walking. The pump has started eating the ice.
At this time we will be temporarily closing our doors. This is to minimize health risks for our family and community. We know people that could be greatly effected if they contracted the COVID-19 virus so we want to do our part to not spread the virus. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we think this is the best decision at this time. We will update when the doors are back open and ready to enjoy the outdoors. Thanks everyone for your cooperation.
Our boat launch is open and we have minnows. Spring fishing will be starting up.
Changes from the MNR and new regulations coming. https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-outdoors-card
Our Shop is switched over for the ice fishing season. The Clam Shanties and Accessories order has arrived and shanties are already going out the door. There is lots of gear to check out and more stuff arriving all the time.
The ice is good still on the lake .. but the snow has caused mobility issues. ATVs are having a tough time getting around. Watch out on the Thames River .. the ice is melting from bottom up. A couple guys have fallen in. If your going, bring a spud and check the ice.
Windy and snow tomorrow could produce some unfavourable conditions. Please make sure you are prepared and think safety first.. a compass can get you back to shore when all else fails. SW winds could make pressure cracks pile up. Be safe and have fun.
Quick update.. the ice on Mitchell's Bay is doing good. This colder weather will make it even better. Perch fishing has been good still..8 to 12ft of water in front of Back Bay, Leagues Bay is getting clean, and so should the Middlegrounds.. so for guys walking that water in shallow will hopefully produce more fish.
If you are going out on the ice this weekend use CAUTION. Warm temps and rain have created bad spots.
There wasn't many keepers caught on Sunday for us.. but numbers didn't matter.. he was a happy kid just to be out ice fishing.
We heard good reports from Sunday.. lots of perch being caught.. let's see some pictures.
Quick update.. the ice in Mitchell's Bay and St.Lukes is good.. ATVs are going out.. take your time be careful around pressure cracks. Reports are saying the water is mostly clean still.. and fish being caught.
This warm weather and rain has put lots of water on top of the ice. But the ice is still good. No muddy water reported ..pumps are running tho.. but don't forget if you do find some water with a stain/dirt.. that water is warmer.. there should be fish in it. Perch fishing has been great this week and should continue through the weekend.. Mitchell's Bay and St.Lukes have been producing nice fish. Pay attention on the rivers.. currents will pickup a bit. Ice can disappear from ...the bottom up. Be sure to check the ice before going out.. even if you have been there just recently. We have lots of Minnows, Spikes, and Waxworms.
We just got a large shipment of Rapala Original Jigging Raps, Snap Raps, Shad Raps, and Slab Raps. Lots of colours and sizes.
Who made it out fishing this weekend ? Let's see some pictures of the fish
