Did you know... ? Grizzly Bear cubs spend 2-3 years with their mother. She provides her cubs with protection and guidance, teaching them important bear skills, like how to catch fish. 'Fishing Lessons' by Doria Moodie is acrylic on canvas, and currently graces our wall as part of Grizzly Bears: Teachers of the Land. Doria is the official artist of the Grizzly Bear Foundation. Why not come and check it out tomorrow (Thursday 19th) - we're open late until 7pm!

Explore the lessons of t...he grizzly bear through painting, photography, sculpture, and storytelling. The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-4pm, with COVID-19 safety protocols in place. This culturally and ecologically important species captures our hearts and imaginations. Through art, grizzlies inspire a sense of wonder and strengthen our connection to the wild. In search of that perfect holiday gift? Take a look at these grizzly bear art prints by the talented Colleen Campbell, one of our Grizzly Bear: Teachers of the Land exhibit artists! Colleen was born and raised in Victoria, Edmonton, and Ottawa and has obtained three degrees in design and art. She taught design at Mount Royal in Calgary and has had many interesting work experiences during her travels. Colleen also worked for a wildlife researcher in Banff National Park, spending more than a decade on grizzly bear research in the Bow Valley and the front ranges of the central Canadian Rockies.
