To all students. As temperatures will be very high please wear T-shirts even to striping on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also parents, please send the kids to class with water.

Effective Monday December 7th, we will be open for all youth Tae kwon do and Brazilian Jiu jitsu classes. Our protocols are in place. Effective Tuesday November 24th,2020. To our valued Martial arts family. We have been forced by the Provincial government and Fraser health to suspend all oper...ations at the Martial arts school. The reason is because the government has been unable to develop protocols for everyone to follow. This is NOT a health related closer. In my communication I have been told that there is mass confusion and that it is being worked on as we speak. Earliest we could be back open tomorrow if not we will have a complete zoom program ready to go for Monday. The schedule will be emailed and posted on fb and our website. We are doing everything we can to stay open. The protocols they put in place will probably be less then what we have now. We are ready to go as soon as they figure things out. Batesons Martial Arts and Northwest Jiu Jitsu Covid 19 Policy and Procedures update : effective November 6th 2020 We have all been working so well together since reopening the doors in May. We are currently running the school with 275 students and growing and everyone is doing their part. Thank you.... Lets keep working hard to do even a better job over the November December training period. 1.)Please continue to drop students of close to their class time. With the cold weather upon us we are trying to get some of the students in the school early. Waiting in the car will be better then standing in the cold and wet outside of the school. 2.)Continue to wear flip flops into the school, socks and shoes add an additional 1 -2 minutes on entering and exiting the school. This is a huge log jam even if its only one or two students in a class. 3.)We continue to ask students to show up in full uniform and not use the washrooms or change rooms. 4.)Please continue to leave coats and sweaters in the car. 5.)EFFECTIVE MONDAY NOVEMBER 9th WE ARE ENCOURAGING STUDENTS TO WEAR MASKS OR SOME FACIAL COVERING IN CLASS. 6.) All other measures will continue to be inplace. Cleaning, hand sanitization, social distancing, contact tracing and designated partners in desiganted cohorts of 4 in youth jiu jitsu. Please continue to communicate with us if any one is sick or if you have any special requests or needs. We completely respect your position and value you as a member of our family. October is Responsibility month. We are going to focus on getting students to be more responsible for themselves. Instead of "My mom forgot my belt today" Its I forgot my belt today" Instead of " I didn't know it was striping this week " Its "When is striping this month so I know". Everyday we hear over and over and over students expecting and blaming their moms and dads for things they should be responsible for. Parents if you are holding your children back, lets raise the bar, get our children to be more responsible, if they fail they will learn. This is a good thing.

At Batesons Martial arts and Northwest Jiu Jitsu academy our POWerful word for September is confidences. Our children need a huge injection of confidence and we are going to focus our energy on building it.

Striping tonight and Thursday night (July 29, 30) we are allowing the students to stripe in their Bateson's T-shirts (only) vs. having to wear their jackets. This is a one time situation due to the heat. Martial arts pants and belts are still required. Respectfully Maam and Sir

This months POWerful is needed everywhere in our society today. Our students will seek to understand the feelings others and take action to help. We can all make things a bit better with some compassion.
