The Royal Canadian Legion, Herman J Good VC branch #18 is proud to present the 3rd annual Deck the Halls Christmas Craft Fair. Due to the legions present transition into their new location, this event will be held at the Kinsmen Club hall at 1100 St Peter Ave, suite #5 on Sunday , November 17th, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm. Anyone interested in renting a $30 table can call the Legion office at 546-3135 or stop by our new facility at 1220 Bridge street between Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm. Tables will be reserved only after payment is made. The Royal Canadian Legion Bathurst Branch would like to thank the Kinsmen of Bathurst for their generosity. :-)

Good morning Comrades. "The Good Brothers", will be on tour again this year. The Good Brothers are Eight Time Juno Award Winners and Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees. As part of their MARITIME EXPRESS TOUR 2016 they will be performing at the Royal Canadian Legion, 575 St Peters Ave, Bathurst NB on April 23, 2016. The show starts at 9:00 PM. Tickets are $20.00 each. This show is open to all. Purchase your tickets early, as they are limited. Thank you in advance for supporting your local Legion.

Comrades I just wanted to make you aware that today we sent out our first marketing newsletter email to all Legion Members whose email address we have on file (approx. 23,000). The email was sent in English and French based on language preference. Below is a sample of the email. There is strength in numbers.... Your membership supports the many services and programs the Royal Canadian Legion offers at the local, Provincial and National levels. As you know, these services are invaluable to those who have served this country, and it takes a lot of hard work by a lot of good people to make it all happen. You also probably know that you don’t have to be a Veteran to become a member. Anyone is welcome, so please encourage your family and friends to join the Legion as well. Every member makes a difference in the lives of Veterans and their families in your community and across the nation. Always looking ahead The Legion is taking another step forward in the coming months. Poppy Campaign: Just to let you all know that the Poppy Campaign has only three days left to canvass and there are a number of openings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the 5th, 6th and 7th of November. Volunteers are needed, both Legion Members or Non-Legion Members who are willing to give 2 hours of their time to cover these openings. If you would like to assist the Veterans in this very worthy cause you can just phone the Legion (546-3135), or drop in, to see what shifts are still available. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Remember the money raised here, stays here to help out local area Veterans. Please share this posting with your friends!!

Some of those who are elected to political office , in our Parliament, as our leaders should be ashamed today. 37 of them could not find it a high enough priori...ty to be in the House of Commons when Parliament voted to extend and expand the mission against ISIL. They could not prioritize their lives and schedules sufficiently to be there when that most sacred trust - sending Canada's sons and daughters in harms way, to do violent things on our behalf - was decided. Shame on you. I'd like to hear each of them explain their priorities and why they could not be in the House to each of the moms and dads, husbands and wives and children of those we are sending and who there now. It pisses me off! See more
