Nepisiguit Lodge 30.01.2021

This is the day a lot of you have been waiting; THE DRAW FOR THE WINNING TICKETS FOR OUR 50/50 LOTTERY. Best of luck to all who bought tickets for this lottery. The lottery will be updated on his site after the draw which is taking place at Bathurst City Hall with our mayor Lee Stever presiding at 1 PM today. Thank you to the committee who put a lot of hard work into making this lottery a success.

Nepisiguit Lodge 21.01.2021

As the person who spearheaded this Lottery back in October, I want to first thank our committee members, David Carroll Chairman and on line coordinator, David Brewster events and media coordinator, Mike Skerry advertising, Josh Gammon - Web design and On-Line coordinator. I was the secretary and coordinator of the on line and Facebook ads plus Bathurst Trails news. Then there is loads of thanks to all our ticket sellers who did a wonderful job and a lot of leg work, E Transfe...rs, running around selling tickets. Finally a BIG THANK YOU to all who purchased tickets to support the club especially to all the folks from out of province, who did not even have a chance to run our trails this year, which is very heart warming to me to say the least. This lottery was conceived in lieu of our inability to fund raise due to Coved 19. We would normally raise close to $45,000 with these fund raising events to help support our massive grooming efforts each year. It was touch and go with ticket sales and forced us to almost go with an extension date, but with a final push in the last two weeks we made it to the end on Wednesday. It was a great relief to the committee members and now we are planning for the draw this Sunday Feb 14 at Bathurst City Hall at 1 PM. Mayor Lee Stever will be in attendance along with our committee members as well as our executive. Dave Brewster will represent the club with the draw. We plan on live streaming or video which will be shown later. The names taken out of the drum will be in descending order of prizes. First name to be drawn will be the $25,000 first prize winner and so on and so forth. First Place $25000, Second Place $10,000, Third Place $5,000, Fourth to Sixth place $1000, Seventh to Twelfth Place $500, Thirteenth to Twentieth $300, Twenty First to Thirty Sixth $100. GOOD LUCK TO ALL Thank You Again Don Kenny on behalf of the Lottery Committee See more

Good morning folks: + 13 here in Bathurst. This is not shaping up to great snowmobiling weather. With more rain, wind and high temps isn't a good formula for the trails. Read my report on bathursttrails.com

Christmas Message Merry Christmas from Nepisiguit Snowmobile Club This will definitely be a different Christmas for a lot of people giving the present restrictions in social gathering, but at this time we want to wish all of our members and all those who faithfully log on here at Bathurst Trails a very merry & joyful Christmas and a big THANK YOU for all of your support. I also want to extend a Merry Christmas to all of our sponsors. We can't thank you enough for all the support that you give to our club. Nepisiguit Lodge 24.10.2020

The Nepisiguit Sport Lodge Lottery is now 50% sold. Thank you so much to all those who have supported the fund raiser to date. This lottery is being held to replace lost revenue from our Wednesday night suppers held during the winter and two major fund raisers in March. These events raise about $45,000 annually and had to be cancelled for the 2021 season due to Covid 19 restrictions. The revenue from the lottery is desperately needed to cover costs associated with tra...il maintenance through out the winter. Nepisiguit Snowmobile Club maintains about 300km of snowmobile trail at a very high level of quality. This requires the use of three groomers and an average of 2200 hours of grooming each season, which is the most by far than any other club in the province. The quality of the system draws snowmobilers from all over Atlantic Canada and results in significant tourism dollars estimated in recent studies to be 50 million per season in NB. A high percentage of this revenue is attributed to the Chaleur Region so this trail system is vital for job creation in our area. During a busy season there will be close to 5000 accommodations booked by snowmobilers in Bathurst and surrounding area. Nepisiguit actually has about 1500 annual members and 600 are from PEI and Nova Scotia. We are asking all members of our club (1450 members still have not purchased their ticket), all corporations, all citizens who can to buy a $100 ticket to support our Tourism industry which we depend on here so much in the Chaleur Region. These make great Christmas gifts for your friends and relatives and you have a 1 in 27 chance to win a prize with just one ticket. The draw will take place on February 14th at the KC Irving Center. Nepisiguit Lodge 07.10.2020

Sunday, Dec 20th, Club #1 It was a beautiful winter day yesterday for snowmobiling. We know there is not a great abundance of snow on our trail system in New Brunswick, but there are good trails already groomed with sufficient snow for good sledding. Namely Christmas Mountains, Moose Valley and points between. The clubs in the north are doing their best to provide some resemblance of a trail system, but sledders must realize the current conditions it is what it is. In... the Bathurst area you can drop off at Rogers Lake or Nepisiguit (note it may be a bit rough but we packed it with the groomer on Friday), Another good place is the Nine Mile East Road on Trail 23 highway 430 or at the Chaleur club on Trail 19. If you drop off at the Nine Mile East road on Trail 23 then a good suggestion is go 22 at the Nine Mile Shelter and take the 507 down to Red Pine Shelter to Piston Alley, which was given a good scrub last night. Go to Bathurst Trails our official web site for more and a continuous update every day on trail conditions and much more info. Buy your lottery ticket here and support this type of trails in club #1 www.lottery.bathursttrails.com See more

Nepisiguit Lodge 04.10.2020

There is some decent sledding to be had up in the Golden Triangle and now the Christmas Mountains as attested to by my friend Andy Perrin from Moncton. This is his message that he sent:---- Hi Don and all your crew at Club #1. We left Rogers Lake on Tuesday the 15th opening day just before noon and were treated to tabletop trails out piston alley! What a sweet way to start the season! We spent the next 2 days riding the Christmas Mountains. There seemed to be the most snow in the Big Bald Slacks Lake area. We had a great time and did 511 km. Trail 58 needs more snow north of Birch lake Rd and the same goes for 23 in the 4 corners area. We saw 21 moose over the 3 days. So as usual club #1 has to complimented for the awesome start to the season. See you soon!

Wednesday, Oct 28th, Club #1 Another big job done by our beautiful volunteers. Thanks Guys and Gals. Much appreciated. Craig Lindsay, Bonnie Boucher, Adam Russell, and Jake Vienneau finished up another big job today at red pine shelter! All the wood that was delivered before restrictions were put in place has now been split and piled!! They also brushed all around the shelter! A big thank you to Ace leasing aswell for the wood splitter!! We have a great group of people involved in our club, all the help is appreciated!! We still have a bit of clean up + stove installation at Nine Mile. See previous post for lottery tickets.

Nepisiguit Lodge 01.10.2020

Lottery Club #1 Given our current state with the Corona Virus this surely is going to be a difference maker in the operations of Nepisiguit Sports Lodge Snowmobile Club #1. We can’t sit idly by and wait until it is too late to take action, so as stated in our August 25th entry the executive is being pro active in preparing for the coming season. With the huge amount of grooming we do each year we have relied on fund raisers to subsidize our grooming and ...trail maintenance costs. We groom well over 2,000 hours each year, which is the highest by far in the province. These fundraisers were in the form of our famous Wednesday Night Suppers, two other events such as the Famous Danny Burger Run & our Wings & Mussels Fest. These events bring in a total of $45,000.00. Our lodge also is a major fund raiser as well with all profits from that operation going into trail grooming as well and this is an unknown factor that we can’t predict as we will have business as usual, but limited to social distancing. We are assuming at this time that this will affect our bottom line here as well. Considering the above factors the club has decided that the only way that we can replace these fund raisers is by having a lottery. Here are some details on the lottery: We are planning on selling 1000 tickets at $100 per ticket and we feel that with over 1400 members this would not be a hard sell plus the fact that we will be selling to the local public as we have a very loyal base here in the vicinity of Bathurst. The prize structure will be on a 50 50 draw with the winning tickets getting the full 50% in cash only and the second 50% to the club which will include all expenses such as ticket printing plus advertising. We decided there will be cash prizes only due to the fact that our corporate sponsors are going through the same dilemma. We would ask all members who use the trail system to support this fund raiser but particularly those who use the system substantially through the season. This will ensure we can continue to provide a first class trail system for everyone in 2021. The draw will be prorated in case we don’t get to sell the 1000 tickets and if we sell them all before the closing date of February 14 on which date we will be making the draw at Bathurst City Hall. Judging by the response from members we should have no trouble selling these tickets. The tickets will be available on line through our web site and also in person by designated persons by November 1st Prize structure: First Place $25000, Second Place $10,000, Third Place $5,000, Fourth to Sixth place $1000, Seventh to Twelfth Place $500, Thirteenth to Twentieth $300, Twenty first to Thirty Sixth $100. Update on Lottery for Club #1, Saturday Oct 24 We are very pleased on the support for our 50-50 Lottery. Our ticket sellers are doing amazingly well. People are calling for books to sell as we are finding out that some are purchasing for all kinds of reasons, but the most important one is to support the club with our failure this year to do fund raising due to the Corona Virus situation. We can’t do our Wednesday night suppers or other major fundraising which subsidizes... our grooming. Here are some of our outlets for purchasing tickets Kerr's Chainsaw Ltd. Bradley Kerr City Center. Tuesday, Oct 20th, Club #1 We are anticipating a busy season on our trails this coming season, despite the current corona virus. Our Nepisiguit lodge and all others in the Nepisiguit loop will be open. The shelters have been closed by order of the NBFSC, because there will be no first hand maintenance of the COV-19. All of our shelters have been stocked with firewood and will remain UNLOCKED. Our Club #1 mail-outs to all of our members will be completed by the ...end of this week. We will be running our three groomers this year including our brand new groomer from Lamtrac. We have all our groomer operators lined up for the coming season and we have been continuously working on trail upgrades. The firewood has been piled at our lodge for the upcoming season. Thanks to Denis White, Blake Sealy, Kevin Veinotte and myself to get this done. Bill Kenny has mowed down the yard around our lodge as well. Thanks Bill!! I hope this dispels any rumor contrary to the above. Of course, if you have been following our post we are replacing all our fund raisers this coming season with a 50-50 draw. Please read previous posts for all the details. See more

Thursday, Oct 1st, Club #1 The NBFSC would like to announce that all NBFSC-Club Trail Shelters will remain closed for the 2020-2021 season. The volunteers who are the owners /operators of these facilities are unable to comply with responsibilities in New Brunswick’s COVID-19 Operational Plan. Trail Shelters will be opened after Covid-19 restrictions in place are lifted. Lisa MacDougall Administrative Assistant The New Brunswick Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Inc. A Volunteer Organization Phone: 506-325-2625 Fax: 506-325-2627 www.nbfsc.com This message caught us off guard as we were in the midst of prepping all our shelters. We have no alternative than to abide by the rules so we will be putting up the appropriate closure signs when we get them. Our Shelter Director Tyler Mullins Message - Covid and how it will affect our shelters: The federation announced today that we will need to close our shelters for the duration of covid regulations. We will be posting signs given to us by the federation on each of our shelters announcing official closure of shelters, but the doors will remain unlocked to avoid damage to our buildings and a warm, safe place to land if anyone runs into issues while out enjoying our beautiful trails. We will be ensuring that we have adequate wood for the winter at all shelters in our system in case of emergency or (optimistically) the covid regulations get lifted. On that note, we will be looking for assistance and volunteers to help split and pile another big load of wood donated to us by fornebu lumber and delivered by jean marc cormier. Stay positive and stay safe, people. We will be out enjoying our sleds sooner than later! Tyler Mullin

Nepisiguit Lodge 10.09.2020

Tuesday, Dec 15th, Club #1 This report and more is always on our website every day www.bathursttrails.com Let snowmobiling on groomed trails begin. This is the first day for our groomers to hit the trails. We’ll have the #1 out of Rogers Lake first thing this morning. I’m not sure if the tracking system was working as it didn’t appear so in last night’s check. We will be testing the waters from Rogers Lake to Governors. Our groomers won’t be going to Serpentine for... the first time since inception. Governors to Serpentine will be handled by the Park groomers. This is there call, but we will offer help if called upon. Here are the conditions from Bathurst to Rogers Lake: Not enough snow to cover all the booboos in the trail from Atlantic Host to Nepisiguit (Trail 19 east). This is the same from East Bathurst to Nepisiguit (Trail 19 West). We need more snow and more FREEZE. From Nepisiguit to Nine Mile East on Trail 23 there is about 10 inches, but there is a mud bog about 7 Km from the lodge. The head pond at Nepisiguit is not frozen enough for any traffic. DO NOT CROSS. I’m assuming at this time that the Miramichi club will not be on the 52 north as well. Nepisiguit Lodge will not be open just yet as there is no traffic to and from there. A lot has to happen in regards to conditions. See more

Nepisiguit Lodge 06.09.2020

Monday, Dec 14th, Club #1 One day left for the Early Bird permit. This last snow was decent enough in the high ground and provided a lot of traffic out of Rogers Lake. We have moved the old #1 up to Rogers Lake and will be grooming on Tuesday morning to Popple Depot.

Nepisiguit Lodge 03.09.2020

Again Sunday Oct 4th 1.30 PM. This is my last post concerning this. THE NEPISIGUIT LODGE WILL BE OPEN FOR THIS COMING SEASON. The only closures will be the shelters across the province as stated by the NBFSC. The doors on our shelters will be left unlocked. and as Tyler said they will be stocked with firewood as we already had the wood prior to the announcement. See previous posts plus Oct 1st post.

Nepisiguit Lodge 30.08.2020

7.30 AM. This is a "Bubble Burster". Looks like about 2 to 3 centimeters this morning in Bathurst and calling for a mix this afternoon. Hopefully they had more than this in the high ground. How much up at the Falls Kevin? Still lots of sledding out of Rogers Lake.

Nepisiguit Lodge 26.08.2020

Tuesday, Sept 29th, Club #1 The wood has been cut, split and piled into the shelter at Nine Mile East Shelter. Thanks to those who showed up; Dave Carroll, Kevin Robertson, John Fisher, John Valley and Yvonne. The shelter is chock-o-block and so is the storage shed. We ran into a little problem with a hydraulic hose leak as we were about to split the remaining for Red Pine Knoll Shelter, so that job has been put on hold.... The stove hasn’t been replaced yet and we ask that the door to the shelter be kept open as there are a few sticks that need drying.

Nepisiguit Lodge 19.08.2020

CHANGE IN PLANS: Looking at Saturday, it does call for rain, so I'm going up early (8 to 9 AM) tomorrow morning (Tuesday Sept. 29 ) to split the wood at Nine Mile Shelter. I'm basically alone so I would appreciate some help if anyone is free. See previous message. We had a problem with the wood splitter last week + we didn’t have our moose down yet. It is repaired. Thanks for helping out, Don Ken

Nepisiguit Lodge 18.08.2020

Saturday, Dec 12th, Club #1 Good morning from Bathurst. Well folks, it looks like we’re going to have more white stuff over night. Up to 10 to 20 cm from Bathurst to Serpentine. That should bring the levels up towards two feet easily in a lot of areas in the high ground. A lot of the trails are getting packed down, which is extremely helpful for us when we do start grooming on the 15th, which is a good reminder to make sure you pick up your early bird trail permit. I kno...w it will be a tough decision for our folks from out of province, but I’m half way certain that the travel ban will lift. Let’s keep our fingers crossed on that one. Ron has his crews all lined up to start grooming on the 15th. At this point we are unsure of grooming right from Bathurst on Trail 19 due to insufficient snow and the lack of freezing. That call will be made as conditions provide. Our conditions are posted every morning on bathursttrails.com and don't forget our Lottery which will subsidize our grooming efforts which was needed to replace all our canceled fund raising events. See more

Nepisiguit Lodge 10.08.2020

Redone this mornings post. Every little snowflake counts at the end of the season. This is what we had in Bathurst last night and there is still a snow flurry at least until noon. I'm thinking there would be more in the higher ground. What we need is a stretch of minus 20 as there is nothing frozen over. -----------------This last snow did not have any meltdown and there are reports of overhanging trees on the trails. It may not be as severe in the high ground, but the picture I took yesterday was at about 500 ft above sea level.

Nepisiguit Lodge 31.07.2020

A big thank you to Cindy & Robbie Singer and her help for painting the inside of 9 mile shelter. Looks great! We are still in need of assistance for replacing the wood stove if anyone is up to the task. And there is wood outside, ready to be split and piled! Wood for the other shelters will be lined up soon. Also Kim & Joey Butler brought a load of cut & split wood and it is piled outside the shelter as it was brought the same day it was freshly painted freshly painted inside.... We had a problem with the wood splitter last week + we didn’t have our moose down yet. It is repaired and are aiming for this Saturday to get it done. Notify us if you can assist for this Saturday 10 to 11 AM. Thanks for helping out, Tyler Mullin Thanks for helping out, Tyler Mullin

Nepisiguit Lodge 26.07.2020

UPDATE Thursday: Wood has been delivered to Nine Mile Shelter. Hopefully we can get the wood split & stored next week during the moose hunt. Lets look at Thursday or Friday. If you are around we could use the help. More hands make a small job. SHELTERS on the Bathurst trails - 2020/21 The season is fast approaching and with all that has gone on with Covid we have not been able to procure a new shelter for 9 mile east, so the old building will stand for us another season. ...We do however need to work done to it and some volunteer help would be really appreciated! Work to do includes: -Remove old wood stove and all piping with it. -install new wood stove, stove pipe, roof kit, and selkirk ( we may have a lead on some of the material required, see previous post) any other material will be supplied to volunteers who step up to the task. - paint the inside of the shelter. -Split and pile wood ( this may happen during moose week ) This is a task required at all shelters. Please reach out to me, Tyler Mullin, or Don Kenny if you are interested in helping out with wood donations or time to complete this, this pre-season. Also, stay tuned for future upgrades on the 9 mile shelter, we are working on something big for next year.! Thanks for your support, that white gold will be flying SOON! - Tyler Mullin For 2020-21Trail Permit info, go to our web site at http://www.bathursttrails.com/en/conditions See more

Tuesday, Dec 8th, Club #1 I just got a call from Serpentine Alyre. He was in Grand Falls. His telephone tower will be put up on the 17th of Dec. He also wanted me to tell you that his restaurant will be closed for food, but open for beverage and your own sandwich. A seating time limit will be in order as well. His rooms will also be for use. Please conform with his wishes as he is going through a rough time. This is of course temporary. I might add (my own opinion) that if he is forced to shut down, this could spell the doom of snowmobiling in that area. Let us get behind him and support him as much as possible. Stove and piping at Nine Mile Shelter needs replacing.

Nepisiguit Lodge 03.07.2020

Update with great news: 50 to 60 Centimeters from Governors to Serpentine. Real good going. It also should be good from Rogers Lake.

Nepisiguit Lodge 29.06.2020

Sunday, Sept 13th, Club #1 We posted the membership list at the lodge yesterday. We had a 90 member increase over the previous season. The club takes pride in posting the membership list as its members love seeing their name up on our bulletin board, which seems to get smaller as we go from year to year.

Nepisiguit Lodge 26.06.2020

Monday, Dec 7th, Club #1 We had a decent dump of snow in the highlands surrounding Bathurst. Although some of the snow was on the wet side it would contribute to a solid base once it freezes up and packed down. It looks like we’ll have in the vicinity of 20 to 25 cm from Nepisiguit to Serpentine. I might add that the word high ground applies to elevations of over 100 feet so if you are looking to places like Nepisiguit, there is a good chance to see those same snowfall numbers in the north. There were people out sled testing the trails yesterday and there will be people out today for sure. The weather temps are quite favorable going forward, so the likely hood of the snow staying is good. We have about 4" in Bathurst proper, mostly on the wet side.

Nepisiguit Lodge 21.06.2020

Saturday, Dec 5 th, Club #1 Well !!!!! It looks like we are going to get some snow in the Bathurst area. It looks like we’ll get a rain snow mix near Bathurst so that will likely be in the neighborhood of 5 cm when it all passes, BUT in the higher elevations we could be as high as 25 cm from Nepisiguit Falls to Serpentine, including Rogers Lake and Popple Depot. We could see some sled testing by Monday. All good news for sledders. We also expect this snow to stay look...ing at the long range of temperatures. I will try to keep my trail conditions on our web site on Bathurst Trails going as long as we have some snow on the ground. Our lottery tickets are very available and we would appreciate our members buying some of these up as our fund raiser events that we use to subsidize our grooming have been put on hold this year. https://www.lottery.bathursttrails.com/ See more

Nepisiguit Lodge 19.06.2020

Monday, Nov 30th, Club #1 There isn’t much sign of any snow this week with a lot of rain in the immediate forecast. The ground is barely frozen and this week will not help matters. We had well mover a foot of snow at this time last year. The groomers are all ready and trail signage is near completion. Shelters are ready with wood and the Nine Mile Shelter situation is ready with a new stove and pipe fittings. ((By NBFSC directions the shelters will remain close...d)). We want to thank all the volunteers to help make this happen. The Nepisiguit Lodge will be open this year with food beverage and gas. Due to the Coved situation all fund raising by the club will cease. These fundraiser events are absolutely necessary to subsidize our grooming costs. To replace these events we have decided that the only way that we can replace these fund raisers is by having a lottery. Here are some details on the lottery: We are planning on selling 1000 tickets at $100 per ticket and we feel that with over 1400 member this would not be a hard sell plus the fact that we will be selling to the local public as we have a very loyal base here in the vicinity of Bathurst. Tuesday, Aug 25th, Club #1 Given our current state with the Corona Virus this surely is going to be a difference maker in the operations of Nepisiguit Sports Lodge Snowmobile Club #1. We can’t sit idly by and wait until it is too late to take action, so the executive is being pro active in preparing for the coming season. With the huge amount of grooming we do each year we have relied on fund raisers to subsidize our grooming and trail maintenance costs. We g...room well over 2,000 hours each year, which is the highest by far in the province. These fundraisers were in the form of our famous Wednesday Night Suppers, two other events such as the Famous Danny Burger Run & our Wings & Mussels Fest and lastly our lodge Sponsored Signage & Web Site Ads. These events bring in a total of $45,000.00. SO, we had an exec meeting this morning regarding fund raising for the upcoming season. We have an initial plan laid out with some refinements required. We would like you to stay tuned on what is coming. See more

Have you purchased your ticket for The Nepisiguit Sports Lodge Snowmobile Club lottery fundraiser yet? Sales are 30% with many books by our sellers not turned in yet. Christmas is coming and it would make a nice Xmas gift. Tickets are $100 a piece, and our goal is to sell 1000. The prize structure will be a 50/50 draw, with half of the prize money being distributed amongst the winners and the club receiving the other half. The draw will be held on February 14th, 2021. This l...ottery fundraiser will replace our famous Wednesday Night Suppers, and other various fundraising events, which we unfortunately will not be able to host for the 2021 season due to COVID-19 regulations. In previous years, these supper fundraisers subsidized our grooming and trail maintenance costs. We groom for well over 2000 hours each year, so these funds are extremely important to the upkeep of our trails! Purchase your tickets and find more details here https://www.lottery.bathursttrails.com/ We thank you for your continued support and can’t wait to see you at the lodge this winter (we will still be open for regular service)! Sunday, Aug 23rd, Club #1 We are in the midst of trail brushing and bridge repair. Ron had the bush hog up on Trail 22 on the 44 road out towards highway 180. We had some bridge repair done on two different sites on Trail 19. There is also signage to be looked at throughout the system, which for the most part is an ongoing thing. We had a significant uptick in our membership numbers with a good number from Nova Scotia and PEI. The list has been reconciled and wil...l be posted on the lodge bulletin board for the upcoming season. The executive will be looking at the upcoming season with respect to the existing problem that Cov 19 will present this coming season. As things stand right now, all we can say is that there will probably be some significant changes in our operation, especially in regards to fund raising. We shall see???. See more

Saturday, May 8th, Club #1 Snowing here in Bathurst, but not near as much as up in Serpentine. Just got off the phone with Alyre and he said you can barely see more than 500 feet. It snowed yesterday but didn’t accumulate much as it kept melting as it hit the ground, but through the night the temps dropped to -9 and as of his phone call there is 9 inches on the ground. There are people coming in from Freddy tomorrow. He was also saying that in some of the trails there is up to 2 and 3 feet of winter snow left and he can’t recall it being so bad at this time of year. He lost a lot of business with his bear hunting as there was no one traveling due to the pandemic. Also his four wheeler business is down due to too much snow. His fishing experiences will be down as well. These Pictures were taken hours ago

Here are just a few pictures of our past season. It was one of the best, although cut short. I invite you to add your own. Happy trails to all<

The snow in the Bathurst area took a big hit since Sunday. There is no trace of the 12 to 15 inches of snow we received last Friday night. I'm still assuming the trails in the upper reaches of our system still have a good trail base left. It is surely too bad that we lost the last three weeks + in truely a remarkable season. Last Sunday:

Friday, 5.12 PM. Just in case you see anyone removing the hardware from the shelters ask their names please. We have volunteers Peter Kenny removing (nine Mile East) and Steve Lebretton (Red Pine Shelter). We are shutting down the grooming operations as of Midnight Sunday as per the NBFSC. All trails on the NBFSC Interactive Map will be turned off as well on Sunday. The trails are now in magnificent shape for the remainder of the weekend. I agree with everyone's frustration over this, but given the cards we are dealt, we have no choice but to fold our hand. Looks like we "got er done" at Nine Mile. James Beaton's Quote: Peter and I removed the solar panel and lights and fixed the stove little humour in these crazy time we tried to stay 7 feet apart lol" They must have been short of paint with the white door.

BREAKING NEWS:-----------With the NB Governments mandatory statement by Premier Higgs curtailing all food and beverage outlets in the province we have no choice to close our doors of our Nepisiguit Sports Lodge Snowmobile Club #1 to all snowmobiling public as of 10 PM tonight. The Nepisiguit Lodge Club #1 will close its doors to food and beverage. For gas, we will be selling fuel until 7 PM Sunday as our staff will be on site doing their usual yearend clean-up of the lodge. We will continue with grooming until such time that the traffic ceases to a crawl. At this point the trails are in decent shape and we will have one groomer out on the trails tonight.

Nepisiguit Lodge 12.11.2019

Steady traffic at Nepisiguit this morning. Trails are great.

Club #1 just had an executive meeting discussing the recent global health crisis and came up with the decision of continuing on business, but with certain precautions being put in place. First with our grooming is that there will be no major changes done here except for the grooming of the Trail 504 into the park. We will do it once more and it is because since the Park groomed the Candy Cane Trail plus 23 and 58 east and south of Mt Carleton and the Trail 19 East linking to ...Island Lake for the last time on March 16. This will take place in the next day or so. For our Nepisiguit Lodge the unanimous decision here is to keep it open for business as usual except for all precautionary measures such as table spacing and more frequent cleaning. We felt that shutting this important stop for most snowmobilers would be a great disservice for food and gas as there are people depending on this. We are asking the Public’s help on this to use prudence when visiting the facilities in our trail system. We would like to think that we are all in this crisis together and to look out for each other. There is a lot of great sledding left in our area and we would only be cheating you out of the last few weeks of what was a perfect year up until now, but again, your cooperation here is crucial. There have been decisions made by other venues to remain open status quo or shut down certain services and that is their decision and must be respected. Going forward, all of the above may change but at least not without a day or two’s notice. Check earlier post with other venue changes. We are getting close to that phenomena of weather dictating self grooming and we are entering the season where there is a lot of good riding. Enjoy the rest of the season, but with caution. Read latest edit https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/n-b-shuts-down-all-non-essentia A lot of things going on today and a lot of decisions have to be made soon: This is just the start of what was a great season. Venue Closures and reduced services... 1.Sugary: We are sorry to announce that for everyone safety we are going to shut down our brunches on Saturday and Sunday, because of the Corid-19 virus, the rest of the business is still going to run as normal. 2. Mt Carleton closed for the season plus Grooming terminated. 3. Serpentine. NO food no lodging just gas for now. 4. The Island Lake Club is sad to announce you that we are going to close our door starting Tuesday march 17 due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) until further notice. Only the gas service will be open to our clients. Thank you for your understanding please share 5. Following the recent world event surrounding the COVID-19 virus, Chaleur Tourism would like you to know that we are working in close coordination with the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick, the province and the other tourism associations in keeping up to date with the events as they unfold.- 6. .The NBFSC like the rest of the world is grappling with how to manage our business during these times. We ask that all our member clubs strongly consider cancelling any planned club events, activities or functions that would bring snowmobilers together in one place. Therefore those Member Clubs with Clubhouses should strongly consider closing their operations. Clubs should however continue to groom their trails and maintain trail signage as long as winter conditions allow; if any club is not prepared to maintain and /or check on their trails at least every seven days then the NBFSC should be notified in writing and we will close your section of trails on the interactive mapping so the public is aware. May our NBFSC family and yours stay unaffected in these unordinary times. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Our Groomer operator report from Last Night: The vandals were out to the nine mile shelter the stove door ripped off and the battery is gone again (second time in a month) See more

Given the situation with the Corona Virus and a discussion amongst our executive, it is our opinion that we have no choice but to cancel the Steak Supper scheduled for Wednesday. We feel that is the prudent action considering the well being for all and being in compliance with our government wishes that large gatherings puts our clientele knowingly at serious risk. The lodge will remain open with regular services and we hope everyone will understand our concerns. We also want to thank Tim Hortons and Stothart automotive our sponsors for the would have been steak supper. They are in complete agreement with our decision. Fortunately this would have been our last supper for this season.

Nepisiguit Lodge 10.10.2019

We had our supper on Thursday night for the Miramichi Valley Snowmobile Club with all proceeds from the supper going to their club. This is an annual event to show our great support from their members who show up faithfully to our suppers as well as using our club as their favorite Pit-Stop, plus almost treat our club house as their own. I was speaking with Ron Kierstead last night and we mutually agreed that as far as two clubs, we work so well together on different projects. As usual they always have tons of prizes for their supper. We had a great entertainer in Greg Pickard who did an auction for them on a snowmobile jacket and was a big hit with the crowd on hand. Truly a great night was had by all. The supper raised just under $4000 for them.
