Amtgard Battle of the Dens

Are you interested in helping make sure that Ontario’s biggest event runs smoothly? If you’re motivated, interested in learning some new things, or you just like helping people, then there are lots of opportunities to donate your time and skill at Battle of The Dens. The crats this year have set up a handy spreadsheet to indicate that you’d be willing to help them out at the event. You can absolutely go find someone day of, but telling a crat now that you’re willing to help will reduce their workload and stress in the coming days before the event! Check out the spreadsheet below and go to each of the tabs to find the time slots that each team needs help with. There are tabs for the Troll, Medic, Security, Reeve, Quest, Rent-a-page, and Feast teams, so there are a ton of options if you are interested!

Hey folks! BoTD is only on more weekend away, so that means it’s time to start thinking about packing your bags for the Nine Blade’s biggest event. If this is your first BoTD, or even your first camping event it can seem overwhelming to find all the right things to pack, so we’re going to make a list of a few things that you should consider bringing! Suncsreen & bugspray. (keep the pesky sun and those annoying skeeters off your back) Tent, sleeping bag & air mattress/cot. (It... can get quite cold overnight so stay warm in your tent) Water & snacks. (even if you’re on the meal plan, you should bring lots of hydration and snacks) Swimsuit & towel. (there is a great watering hole not far from site!) Extra socks & underwear. (nothing is better than putting on a fresh pair of socks after CTF, trust me) Equipment repair kit. (There’s going to be a lot of games and fighting going on, and you don’t want to miss it for want of a roll of hockey tape and a bit of foam) Proper footwear. (you’re going to want sturdy shoes for running around the trails with the enemy team’s flag) Proper garb. (you’ll need garb for in the woods when it’s hot, and for by the campfire at night when it’s cold) Be sure your tent and equipment is ready for the weather; it is often humid or outright raining at BoTD. be sure to bring a tarp to keep the bottom of your tent dry, and large ziploc bags can help keep your garb and extra socks and underwear nice and dry. If you’ve got a bit of rope you can even make a drying line for your clothes and gear. If you have any more tips, feel free to post them below!

With BotD being a few short weeks away, it's time to talk about our A&S tournament! We will be hosting a kingdom level tournament, with a maximum of three entries per person. We have a number of titles that will be given out at this tournament. "Best in Show" which will be available to people with one entry, and it is for best single entry scored. Best New Up-and-Comer will be given to the best entry made by a crafter with 4 or less awards in the entered category, and Th...e Dens Chief Crafter will be given to the best overall combined entries (average of 2 or 3 entries). Hey everyone!! I'm here to tell you all about the signature game that happens at BotD, Capture the Flag! The CTF is a 6 hour game that takes place in a huge wooded area, with many paths and back trails leading to the multiple bases that have become iconic to this event. This year we have some great props being made for this game, including some custom flags and headbands unique to your team.... Greetings Adventures! My name is Daisy, and I am here to get you hyped about BotD! Over the next few weeks I will be sharing with you many cool aspects of this event, so stay tuned. To kick things off, I'll start with one of my favorite memories. There are wild blueberries all over the site of BotD. I had a really fun time last year just picking blueberries with a friend or two while running between the different bases during Capture the Flag.
