With the upcoming school year approaching, acoustics may be the last thing on your mind. It is important though that as schools rush to prepare for the upcoming new procedures and protocols to deal with the pandemic, there are spaces within schools that are going to be used for teaching, which were never designed to be used as a teaching space. Speech intelligibility and reverberation play a large role in children being able to understand and learn from our teachers. At BCML we can measure the reverberation decay and work with you to bring the echo down to acceptable levels. We have several options available and can work directly with your school board or with an interior design consultant to optimize the aesthetic appeal of the panels. Panel design and installation can be a feature and doesn’t have to be an obstruction.

Was a pretty busy week. We had a tight schedule to complete this project but the entire team came together to make it happen. What do you do when an owner needs to stay open but also wants something done? You make it happen. From the initial cutting of block to the final flashings we worked tightly with the staff at All Things Cedar to ensure their operations were impacted as little as possible. And trust me this is a busy shipping area right now. Probably why they wanted th...e direct access to the shipping area instead of moving shipments through the shop in the first place. Huge thanks to Accurate Cutting and Coring, Altaweld, Overhead Door Co, and First Technical for working with me and the staff at All Things Cedar and making this happen. Just need a little paint and sealant (I’ll let the pros at KDH take care of this one for me early in the week) but call it another one done. Now to get some more reactine (allergy to cedar and being in a cedar wood shop for 8 hours a day isn’t a great idea). See more

Latest project we worked on. I would say completed but we are still waiting on windows to complete the clinic. Super fast turnaround on this one. I guess that what happens when you tell the owner they only need one week to move over everything including millwork, office furniture, and surgical suite equipment. Well. Three weeks from demo to completion (minus windows). Was a good project. Was a stressful project, but I’m really happy with how everything turned out. If you’re in the Claresholm area and need a vet. Been a little while since I updated this. Large flex expansion/compression joint is in an ready for final sanding. Main floor finish sanded and ready for washroom ceilings to go in on Monday. Coming down to the end for GWB in this one. Glass is in at the main entrance so we’ll be able to finish that area off now too. Almost T-bar time.....

Been a while since I’ve added an update. Inside of the building we’re working on now has the walls starting to turn white. Taping will be starting next week. This is going to be a great space. Lots of big windows, transfer glazing to allow the light to get all the way to the centre of the building, and open 14’ ceilings to the central area.
