In case you or someone you love is in need of support over Christmas, this is a list of a few local organizations that will be open and available for support.

In the spirit of Christmas, our local RCMP detachment will be holding a "Cram the Cruiser" food drive at the Foodland parking lot on Saturday, December 12th beg...inning at 8:00 am. They will have members of the detachment onsite throughout the day collecting donations. If there are any community groups that would like to get involved, you can contact the RCMP at 709-432-2440.

The Lifestyle Centre is now open! The following is a list of some things to note when coming to the Lifestyle Center: Everyone must use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the Lifestyle Centre. Stay home if you are unwell or symptomatic. Everyone must sign in at the front desk for contact tracing purposes.... Everyone must maintain physical distancing of two meters between bubbles Individuals must bring their own water bottles and individuals must not share with other participants. Water fountains/stations may not be used in Alert Level 2 Change rooms will be closed, they may not be used during Alert Level 2. Individuals are not permitted to linger in the facility after the end of their activity. Individuals should maintain physical distancing when exiting the building. Hours of the Lifestyle Centre: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 9:00 pm Saturday 12:00-5:00 pm Sunday Closed At this time there will be no birthday party bookings. A further update will be provided when it's safe to host such events. Falcon Fitness Inc. is also open, you can view the regulations they have in place by visiting their Facebook page.

Santa Claus Parade Route - Saturday, December 5th. Starting in Bauline, at 10AM, Santa's Float along with the Witless Bay Fire Department will travel along the ...road to route 10, and then proceed along route 10 through Tors Cove, Mobile, Witless Bay and turn in Bay Bulls, and return to Witless Bay via Deans Road. Between 11:30-12:00 (estimate) Santa will then add a Kinsmen Float and a Knights of Columbus Float and then go through Witless Bay along the following route: Deans Road to Harbor Road, Turning up Fisherman's Road and continuing to Route 10. In Gully Road and through the Tamarack Drive Subdivision and back out Gully Road. Down Route 10 to South Side of Harbor, down Lower Loop Road, Gallows Cove Road and turn up Carey's Road. Down Route 10 to Dunne's Lane, Southside Track, Country Path Drive, Island View, Green Hill Drive and finish at the Puffin Center. Santa would love to see you along the route, but please don't gather in large crowds and keep social distancing in mind! See more

Based on concerns related to Covid-19 and following guidance related to Remembrance Day by other groups we are sorry to say there will be no public ceremony or ...church service for November 11th this year. A representative of the committee will be laying one wreath at 11am to represent all veterans and the single shot will be fired while the flags are being raised as a sign of respect. There will be no public gathering but we ask people to stop what they are doing at 11am on Remembrance Day and give a minute of silence for the veterans who have served.
