A reminder to all of our patients and the public - Due to the requirement to screen and prescreen patients before they are seen in the clinic, and to maintain a record of visitors for contact tracing, we are unable to accept walk-ins or unplanned drop ins until the province moves to Alert Level 1. Please do not show up to the clinic without calling first to book an appointment or, in the case of visitors, determine the most appropriate time for your arrival. We would also l...ike to stress that when possible patients should attend their appointments alone. No more than one extra individual will be permitted in the operatory with the patient. This is especially important to note for parents accompanying their children. We understand that our phone lines have been very busy. We check the answering machine numerous times a day and will respond to you as quickly as we can. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are a rotational worker, and have come from any of these locations, you are required to self isolate for the full 14 days. Due to this update in our provincial recommendations, our screening questions will be updated as of this coming Wednesday.

From Dr Haggie. I have received questions regarding the self-isolation requirements of rotational workers that return from a work site with a declared outbreak.... Rotational workers from Newfoundland and Labrador who work outside Atlantic Canada in another Canadian province or territory and return from a worksite with a declared outbreak must self-isolate on their property and physically distance away from family members for 14 days. They cannot go for a walk or drive off their property during the isolation period. If an individual is self-isolating, no visitors are allowed to enter their home. If a person in the home becomes symptomatic, everyone in the household must self-isolate immediately and call 811 for guidance. A list of sites with declared outbreaks is available here: https://www.gov.nl.ca/covid-19/outbreaks/ Public health officials in NL are notified by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) when an outbreak is declared at a work site with workers from our province. PHAC will also advise when the outbreak has been declared over. The webpage will be updated regularly as outbreak locations are identified or declared over.

If you are a rotational worker at any of these sites, you are required to self - isolate for the full 14 days. If you have an appointment coming up in our office please inform our staff if you have returned recently from one of these sites so that you can be booked appropriately.
