An orphaned boy is the sole survivor of the Afzaal-Salmon family, a Muslim family that arrived in Canada in 2007. The detestable feat that stole the rest of his family was motivated purely by hate. ICSG condemns the targeted insufferable act that occurred and offers our support to the Islamic members in our communities. Islamophobia has no place in our neighbourhoods or our country. We are not defined by our faith or colour of skin, but rather who we are.Canadians. ICSG will actively continue to uphold our Muslim colleagues, friends and families as they endeavor to restore their trust in others through their process of healing.

ICSG would like to acknowledge the atrocities realized in the Residential schools in Canada. In wake of the devastating news of the children’s lives lost at an undocumented former Indigenous Kamloops Indian Residential school, ICSG would like to send our deepest respect and condolences to the families of these children. It is our responsibility to mark change by supporting the Indigenous community with honour and sensitivity as they heal from this damage and preserve their communities. As per the announcement made today, Childcare Centres will remain open, however, we will not be permitted to offer care to Kindergarten and School-Aged children for the period of time in which elementary schools continue to be closed and only operate virtually from April 7th until April 16th, 2021. Schools will remain closed until April 18th, 2021. Therefore, if your child is in Kindergarten or Grades 1-5, we will not be providing childcare for these programs until school resumes in-person learning as of April 19th, 2021. The childcare will continue to offer care to our Toddler and Preschool programs as per Covid Operating hours. We appreciate your continued patience as we navigate these unprecedented times.
