Some more good news from our friends at Harbour Lights Marina!

To the Members of the Bayfield Yacht Club: We are faced with a difficult decision this summer due to the corona-virus. You are all aware of how different restrictions have been introduced, including social distancing and limits on public gatherings. Boats have just recently been allowed to launch and the marinas are now looking at it being the middle to end of June 2020 before the boats are all into the lake. Our Yacht Club thrives with races and activities amongst our member...s. Over the winter months our executives worked diligently on activities for the 2020 season. Every activity involves personal contact and is not conducive without this interaction. On the water we would be safe and we would schedule a few races in August 2020 if permission is granted by our Government. Our barbeques would involve more than ten people and at this point we are not allowed any further participants. The Marinas in Bayfield that we partner with have introduced strict guidelines that comply with the Government mandate for their being able to conduct business in this unprecedented time. It is our belief that respecting these guidelines will keep our members and community safe so that we can reassemble for an incredible boating season in 2021. With postponing our planned activities for the time being we intend on keeping an open mind and if regulations change we will re-evaluate our summer schedule. You can be assured that the Yacht Club will only schedule things when it is declared safe. We value each and every one of you and to put you in harm's way would be ethically and morally wrong. The reason for this letter is to let you know that we will do what is deemed proper protocol for our Yacht Club, as soon as we are able to provide you with the same amount of comradeship and competition we will. At this point we do not have a definitive timeline but I wanted all of you to know how much we appreciate those of you who have joined the Yacht Club for our second season. We look forward to serving you in the near future. Stay well and stay safe.
