It is with great sadness that The City of Belleville Pipes and Drums shares the news of Mike Letwin’s passing. Mike was an important member of our community with involvement in many local programs and a proud supporter of our pipe band. Deep peace of the running wave to you, Deep peace of the flowing air to you, Deep peace of the quiet earth to you,... Deep peace of the shining stars to you, Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you. May the road rise to meet you; May the wind be always at your back; May the sun shine warm upon your face; May the rains fall softly upon your fields. Until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. https://www.facebook.com/539271342/posts/10158655465026343/?d=n

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band has been unable to practice or perform together for over four months now. Piper Tim Hutchinson arranged this popular tune... for the pipes, including five harmony parts. 30 band members recorded individual parts (including piano and drum kit) on their phones and we merged them into this final piece. Hope you enjoy it! Audio and Video editing: Tim Hutchinson View on youtube: https://youtu.be/zBVf4F-SVYM

The American Hockey League has cancelled the remainder of the season due to COVID-19 concerns. As such, the Belleville Senators will not have a closing game this year. The City of Belleville Pipes and Drums hope that the team, and the league, are able to resume normal operations next season and look forward to a chance to perform for them again when play does resume.
Play Amazing Grace on Easter Sunday at Noon from wherever you are in Ottawa, across Canada and the world. All pipers know the tune Amazing Grace and its story o...f courage and transcendence under adversity. The sound of this hymn played by hundreds of individual bagpipers in this city and hopefully around the world would be a great gesture in our collective global struggle against the Coronavirus. The meaning of this event will only be heightened by the hopeful symbolism of Easter. Every piper is invited to strike up their bagpipes to play Amazing Grace at Noon (local time) on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 from or near their own location. In this way we can give encouragement to our fellow citizens at this very trying time in our fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. @Donald MacDonald Please share pix and use #amazinggraceCOVID19!
