The Great Scout Campout started early this morning. There were over 60 participants from Kingston (ON - hosted by 1st Bayridge Troop, and also attended by Kingston Centre Troop), Gatineau (QC), Ottawa (ON), Nepean (ON), Perth (ON), and Kenilworth (England, UK). Some of those from Kenilworth visited Kingston as part of the post 2020 World Jamboree and Loyalist Area hosted them. We are so pleased that they could join us!! Throughout the day Scouter Rob and his team held fu...n activities such as: getting to know each other, Scouter Will leading preparation of lunch, making our own countries, and then a campfire! (Happening now). Many participants elected to sleep outdoors! Fresh quinzhees were prepared and slept in, and tents (indoors or outdoors) were also used. In many cases indoor "forts" were created for sleeping! The best feedback that received was that "I never thought that I would ever speak with someone from the UK." It is my pleasure to announce that our newest Venture Dominic B. has earned the Chief Scout’s Award. He was presented the award by his super proud mother, Scouter Sharon, his father John and the Venture Company at an Indoor Climbing event on Thursday night.
