Typical vertical settlement cracking in a foundation that is less than 1/8 of an inch can be a common occurrence. It is recommended sealing the crack to avoid water ingress into your crawl space or basement and monitor for future movement. Cracks larger than this or cracks that are horizontal in nature are a more serious issue and a specialist is recommended to further evaluate the severity of the problem.

Its that time of year its going to start getting cold out. It is recommended to change your old aged outside taps to the new style with frost freeze protection that have an anti siphon valve built into them. This will help avoid un wanted freezing and splitting of your exterior taps and plumbing pipes which can be a costly repair.

The Rain is here !!! its time to clean the gutters and if you have old failing perimeter drains it is recommended extending your downspouts at least 4 to 6 ft away from the home. This will help with soil erosion and possible water ingress into you crawl space or basement.
