Happy Beef Month!!! #beef is so much more than one you can make out of it for dinner. It's a way of life. It's a #family tradition.

They ran to the groceries, they filled up their carts, They emptied the Tops and Price Chopper and Walmart, They panicked and fought and then panicked some... more, Then they rushed to their homes and they locked all the doors. The food will be gone! The milk eggs and cheese! The yogurt! The apples! The green beans and peas! The stores have run out, now what will we do? They’ll be starving and looting and nothing to do! Then they paused, and they listened a moment or two. And they did hear a sound, rising over the fear, It started out far, then began to grow near. But this sound wasn’t sad, nor was it new, The farms were still doing what farms always do. The food was still coming, though they’d emptied the shelves, The farms kept it coming, though they struggled themselves, Though the cities had forgotten from where their food came, The farms made them food every day, just the same. Through weather and critics and markets that fall, The farms kept on farming in spite of it all. They farmed without thank yous. They farmed without praise. They farmed on the hottest and coldest of days. They’d bought all the food, yet the next day came more, And the people thought of something they hadn’t before. Maybe food, they thought, doesn’t come from a store. Maybe farmers, perhaps, mean a little bit more. #farming #covid19 #thankyou #farm #ag #agriculture This is Busse's Barron Acres Big or small We raise them all Like all farms, we work 24/7 Proud to farm Thank a farmer today by commenting below God bless to all #24/7 #proud #stillmatters

So as we carry on farming through this difficult time, worrying about both our health and the economy, I thought I would write a little message to the following... people; - To the teacher at school that said upon asking me what I would like to do career wise, that I should aim a little higher than agriculture - To the vegan activists who thought they would slander farmers, use false information and false facts and actively discourage people from buying local and supporting a farmer forcing their views on to other people - To the people that go around thieving after dark as they believe our tools and diesel are worth more than their dignity - To the people that are too lazy to go to a bin so they throw their rubbish from their car window into the fields so we end up damaging our mowers/wasting our time picking it all up - To the also lazy people that decide to fly tip in the gate ways and droves to prevent a farmer from entering his own land - To the youths that decide to burn down straw stacks worth thousands of pounds after harvest just for a laugh - To the angry car driver that always swears at you AFTER you’ve pulled over for him or the one who swears at you for absolutely no reason - To the one who will condemn a farmer for using chemicals to look after his crop to make just enough of a profit to get by and also provide enough yield to feed the nation - To the people who moan continuously about us working late in to the night to beat the rain - To the few at school who looked down on our small minority and laughed at us when we went off to agricultural college - To the all too often people that look you up and down because our shirts have holes in and more times than not are covered in grease and oil, looking like we’ve ploughed 100 acre by hand - To the healthy eaters who criticised potatoes to death and said how we should be eating pasta instead but who is now searching for a bag of potatoes from a farmer because there’s no more pasta left To you all, I really hope us farmers can be of service to you through this very difficult pandemic, whether it be through supplying you with potatoes, onions, milk, meat, eggs, etc. You may not think much to us but unfortunately we’re now all you’ve got. Never slate a farmer with your mouth full! #backlocalfarmers Thanks to Lucy Charlotte Munn from for this inspirational post.
