Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lac La Biche is currently looking for volunteers and we need your help! One of our biggest fundraisers to support programming is Casino's. Our Casino this year is on October 23rd and 24th in Fort McMurray and we are looking for a couple more people to help us out! Your mileage, hotel, and meals will be covered for volunteering. Tuesday, May 12 How can you make life better for someone else today? Can you tell them how much they mean to you? Can you make or send them a gift? Can you give them a friendly hug? Can you spend time with them in person (social distancing) or on the phone? Can you do something nice for them? You never know when that is the one connection that will make the difference for them!

Monday, May 4, 2020 Happy Monday all! Started off as a bit of a chilly dreary day, but I have noticed the sun peaking through! Today might be a good day for an indoor activity how about trying to create a word search or crossword puzzle for your guardian or your Big (or your little) to solve. These can be quite fun. Create a few share with friends and see how well they do!

Friday, May 1, 2020 It’s a beautiful day outside! Great day for a walk, and while out keep your eyes open for some rocks to paint. And then paint them with kind and thoughtful words on them. If possible, place those rocks around your neighbourhood just off sidewalks or near mailboxes, etc for individuals to read them as they too are out walking and hopefully help brighten their day (What a great way to spread some joy while we are still needing to isolate from friends!)

Thursday, April 30, 2020 Today is Poem in your Pocket day! Although not really sure what that means, we thought it might be a fun day to share a little positivity. Write a note to your mom, dad or caregiver and leave it in a secret spot where they can find it. Or maybe write a note to a neighbor on the sidewalk with chalk or a little note of positivity in their mailbox. Share some joy today find the rainbows!
