Hello All, I wanted to share with you two articles and announcement on the induction of Bob Allen and Dante Maglio into the BC Soccer Hall of Fame. These are two greats in Refereeing in BC. Especially Bob in my case as he and my brother Roy were my mentors when I first started to Referee. I can remember Bob spending the time to help me and instill confidence in my ability as a new Referee. It was very hard to get good games and Bob assigned me to matches just a year or two u...nder my own age and told me, "you can do this, I know you can". It was that support that gave me the confidence to do the matches. He took some heat for assigning me as other more experienced Referees would say that I had not the experience nor paid my dues yet but Bob gave me the chance and I will never forget. He is one of the reasons I accepted the job at BC Soccer over 16 years ago and I thank him for his support. Congratulations to Carol Anne on such an amazing Refereeing career, BC Referees have been lucky on a number of occasions of learning of these amazing Referee and Role model. I remember back in 2013 asking if she could help out with BC Soccer's Female Symposium during the Girl Provincial Cup Competition she did not hesitate and said Yes. Hello Everyone, This week has seen lots going on in Refereeing in BC. Alain Ruch was 4th official in his second match in an MLS game between Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact. A big story for tomorrow will be Juan Marquez being the Referee in the CPL final in PEI and he will be accompanied by Stefan Tanaka-Freundt. The game can be watched at 11AM on CBC as is between Forge Fc and Halifax Wanders FC.
