Hello fellow members, I wish to give you all an update on the current UMP 2021 situation. We have had numerous meetings on the event and took every critique or feedback given seriously. Due to the magnificence of the event, we have as a board, decided to not host UMP for this year. We were discussing an online event but it would not have compared to what we all usually expect from the wonderful time had each year. COVID has been hard on everyone, let us hope we can have UMP ...next year and enjoy each others company on such a lovely weekend. Even though we are not having UMP this year, we will be having an AGM since it is needed. The AGM will be held on February 13 at 3PM. Members who are currently in good standing in any party are welcome to join for this event (more the merrier)! The event will take place on the Discord platform; it is very easy to sign up for an account. If you have any further questions on how the system works, please do email me directly and I will be happy to help! The AGM is being held in February since our bylaws state there has to be 45 days' notice for any such revisions or potential changes to the bylaws. If any of you wish to create a motion or revision to the bylaws, please be prepared with your changes or overall concerns you may have at this time. Good Afternoon BC UMP Society/ BC UMP Senate, I would like to update everyone on a matter that has been under review for over a year but has never been properly resolved. For the sake of moving forward, this matter has finally been concluded. Multiple issues starting in 2016/17 were given to the previous Board, but no real conclusions have been given. Hello everyone, The board had a meeting last night to discuss event planning for UMP 2021. Since we are looking at the event being online to some capacity, we discussed two different dates. For those wishing to attend this year, please comment below what weekend would better suit you! These are the proposed dates: December 31st - January 3rd. January 7th - January 10th. -Chloe.

Hello everyone, I wanted to give you all a quick update on what has been currently transpiring with the board. Firstly, we are now uploading our meeting minutes to the UMP official website. I understand this has been a major issue in previous years. We want everyone to see the progress that is being made without being secretive about it. Secondly, our secretary resigned awhile ago from his duties and we have found a replacement. Our new secretary is Leila Foster! In order f...or this step to be as quick and efficient as possible, we as a board had a discussion on the easiest possible way of filling the role. Since Leila was the CPC director, the caucus themselves came to an agreement on who the new director would be. The new CPC director is Darian Russo. I want to briefly discuss why we made these decisions quickly. Since we had a person resign, we were trying to make quorum to the best of our ability. This was an issue for some time, which was very aggravating for the rest of us who were showing up and trying to do our jobs. Since we have filled these roles, quorum has not been an issue. We are currently in talks about finding a new clerk since this position is currently vacant. We should have an update within the next few days on this matter. Lastly, I want to update everyone on how the event is going to potentially look this year. Due to COVID, the Legislature does not want anyone using the building. Again, we are currently figuring out methods we can use for the event coming up. The board and committee are working on this to get you all an answer soon. Hello everyone, I am here to give you all an update on the board and upcoming UMP 2021 news. Since COVID is still active to some capacity, we are all trying our best to provide the absolute best event that we can. Having said this, we may not be able to use the legislature due to these uncertain times, therefore, we have to think of other methods in order to give an exceptional and immersive experience. In our last board meeting we passed a motion stating we will be creating ...a UMP event committee to give the board extra assistance with ideas and overall planning. The chair of this committee will be Stewart McGillivray. With his years of experience at UMP we know that he is a valid choice to help us all at this time. The committee will consist of two members from each caucus (6 total) to help us with ideas and overall advice from each party. Myself, Steven, and Erik have and are in the process of recruiting for this committee. We feel having extra voices for this is completely beneficial since the board is here to serve all of you.
