Thank you everyone for staying connected to AMTA. After two years of being closed, we are going to shut down this account. It was an honour serving you and we wish you every success in your personal, professional and spiritual lives!

I love that people still find this AMTA page. Wish we were still open to support your learning journey. Our message remains the same, even if we can't help directly: "find what you're passionate about then advocate for yourself and your own success" #thehorizonleansforward #WeBelieveInYou
Thank you to everyone for posting your positive and supportive comments. Today, our total number of "employed" candidates reached 1029! At AMTA, we are proud to have met all our commitments to communities, companies and governments and we wish we had more time to fulfill our promises to all of our candidates. The fact is, our funding was going to come to an end in March and unfortunately it came to an end earlier than planned. Speaking from the place of "what I know for sure"......we've done more than what was asked of us, we've done everything out of respect and integrity, and, more than anything, we've done everything we could to create solutions for our partners, funders and candidates. If there is any doubt about this statement, please check with our candidates, staff, board members, auditors, employers and contractors. The AMTA team is "a group of thoughtful, committed citizens" and we have made strides toward positive change for many individuals, families and communities. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your network. #AMTALove See more
"The horizon leans forward, offering you space to place new steps of change."~Maya Angelou AMTA supports positive change...one step at a time...following the lead of the horizon.
AMTA will close its doors today after receiving notice its federal funding is over, and without future funding commitments in place After four and a half years of supplying job-ready candidates to Canadian resource-sector industries, the Aboriginal Mentoring & Training Association (AMTA) is closing its doors, effective immediately. In AMTA, we have created a workforce development program that is increasing Aboriginal educational attainment, responding to labour market needs..., getting people into good jobs and generating more than $136 million in GDP contributions annually, says David Watkins, Chair of AMTA’s Board of Directors. And yet we can’t secure financial commitments to continue operations. It’s a very sad day for AMTA and our supporters, who have worked tirelessly to find a solution to keep AMTA going. But the journey is over, and I want everyone to know how grateful we are to our partners and other AMTA champions in industry, Aboriginal communities and beyond, for the financial and in-kind support they have provided, and to Government for its investment in AMTA since 2010. http://www.amta-bc.com//amta-will-close-its-doors-today-af
